| This is one of the last 2 issues with my car. I am always able to get it started but here it goes..
Sometimes when I turn the key over the car doesn't turn over. Nothing. Like it's not in drive. I can do it 3-4 more times and eventually it will crank and fire up easily. Possibly an ignition switch or passkey problem is my guess, but I would love others to take a stab at this.

| I'm thinking ignition switch as well, possibly dirty contacts in the key cylinder. I have no idea how to clean it, maybe someone will chime in. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

Yeah. The sales guy originally told me I could throw it from N to P but that didnt help. Sometimes it still wont start in N. It's not a linkage problem, and when it starts I do no wiggling of the shifter.

| Someone here, albertj I think, spelled out a simple process of cleaning with a Q tip dipped in rubbing alcohol or an electronics cleaner. Not dripping wet, just dampened. Wipe inside the key slot, then follow with dry Q tips. As I recall it anyway. | |

| I'd consider checking at the soleniod for power.
Reason being is VATs should give you a three minute time out after 3?? bad tries.
That sound logical guys?

That sound logical guys? Sometimes it takes 5-6 times or even more to get it to crank over. Never has it taken more than 30 seconds though. That isnt crank time, just the amount it takes to recognize I'm turning the key over. It's a strange problem for sure.
