who ever uses and mp3 NOT an IPOD..do u have pics of ur setup? i have a sandisk sansa..and right now i have it connected through the tape deck..id like to do sumthin different..any help??? if you intend to keep the original deck, an alternative to the cassette adapter would be using a radio module (connects to your peripheral and then you just set your radio to the prescribed frequency) Other than that, I dont know of any way to do it without a new deck. If you are willing to search extensively online, you may be able to find adapters and such that allow you to alter the inputs on the original equipment (ie. replace a factory remote cd player with the peripheral of your choice) Ive found a surprising amount of stuff like that for my late mitsubishi but havent really looked much for this style GM equipment. I'll post if I come across something | |

| Ok so this is my setup...with a Sony Minidisk Player MZ-510... included is a car charger...high quality cassette adapter..and 2 remotes...one made for the car..which can..control customized group folders...next track...previous track...play/pause..and stop...its the one in the far top right of the picture.. sorry da shots at night...but still can see... i originally had the remote on the center console but since i like to hold the gear shifter while im drivin..yeah i know its an automatic..it was in my way..so i put it on top of where the cupholders are...i dont use them anyway...only for my cell..but i can manage...i also tried puttin the player right in there the ashtray was...fit perfect...but couldnt get power to it if needed...plus there was a mess with wires...looked bad..so i came up with the scheme u see above...the cords and wires...fit perfectly along the crevices..and make it look very respectable...i dont need the power cord a lot..cuz its a rechargable batter that lasts up to 56 continuous playin hours...i MIGHT try to find a car remote for it that shows me the track and stuff..i have a remote that does it for that...but it would be an inconvenience and not as good lookin..im not too worried about it for now... let me know what you guys think...in my eyes...its creative... | |

| Ah... cords. All I care about is the sound quality, the way it looks, and the variety of music I can listen to. If for some reason my two spools of CDs aren't enough, I have an aux in that I can plug my MP3 player into. 18,000 tracks on tap, but I rarely need to go that route. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| yes the cords arent exactly my first choice...i have an FM transmitter but i am still not satisfied with the quality...the setup i have no actually is better quality the cd player..at least with my stock speakers anyway..i need to get on that btw...but i have the volume set perfectly to go with the minidisk player..and the equalizers...i havent had any distortion yet..i even played the same song from a cd..at the same volume and got distortion(stock speaker problem)..so for now..im VERY satisfied with my setup.. | |

| Better (front) speakers and an amp to power them typically makes the best improvement in SQ. With a little EQ, the stock head sounds very good, might sound better with your set-up. I used to be a big fan of MD when it came out. Wish they'd done more to market the technology. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| i agree on all points... the MD did no advertising..kind of went by word of mouth..and not a lot of people knew about them anyway...90% of people never heard of MD and 99% never heard of HI-MD..sony was really ahead of its time when they made the MD.. remote controls with track name/length/group, the newer MD's had a tv tuner and weather tuner, and FM tuner, u could record from audio outs on anything..the durability, and the quality, the only thing i hated was the software.. MD - Kinda like the Riv, ahead of its time..under appreciated by most. | |
