| I can usually hear the blower whine when the BBV is utilizing boost. If you hear it, you could say it's "activated". A good example is in OD when climbing a hill. You'll hear a lower pitched whine, even at 1800 RPM or so, whereas you normally wouldn't if you're not under load. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| your stock intake has resanotors to muffle the sound out. Put a CAI or FWI on it and you will here it quite clearly. | |

| Thought the '95 had a pre-gutted air box. Should be able to hear the whine when the engine's under load. Maybe you aren't pressing the pedal hard enough... _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Speaking of sc noises, does anyone else hear when the BBV releases boost? Like when you ease of the throttle after hitting it? I try to tell people in the car to listen for it, but they can't hear it. You guys know what I mean? | |

| I don't mean to hijack the thread, But if I hit the accelerator and get the boost built up, and if I let go of the accelerator to about 1/4 I hear a release of air. I don't know if this is normal, but I know for sho I can hear it. I may try to record it with my phone or a better digi camera, but can't promise it will work out. It is louder when I ease of the accelerator when the RPMs are high. And I can hold the accelerator at that critical point sometimes and I can hear it constantly letting out a little bit of boost as long as I hold the pedal in the same position. | |

| Only time I'm ever heard anything consistent with that was when my belt was slipping. It was more of a chirp, but could be interpreted as air, and it happened exactly when you're saying you hear the noise. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| is it a hissing sound? like a vac leak? i cant hear my valve open or close...but i can feel it if i hit the throttle and let off of it all i hear is the rotors winding down. btw its probably not good for the engine to go from WOT to 0% throttle rapidly, especially if you floor it again before the engine has time to figure out what your trying to do. Why would my belt slip tho? Its in good condition. The only noise I am worried about is the SC coupler noise. And I just hope my bearing isnt bad on the SC too. | |

| Ok I just went out with my roommate and had him listen to the sound. He heard it. It sounds like air. I don't think it is belt slip because I can hold it at low throttle and go slow and still hear it, and make the sound stay consistant or just for a second. It really sounds like air being blown out like a BOV | |

| I have had someone tell me that they heard something that sounded like air was released from a valve when I let off of it. He wasn't in the car, so maybe he could hear it better. It probably just came from my intake. _________________ 1998 Supercharged Riviera - Custom CAI, Alpine spx-13ref, Infinity 6x9's, Alpine 4 Channel Amp, Kicker KX3, Silverstars, STB, Hawk Brake Pads, Monroe Air Shocks, KYB GR2
