| So, I'm in the process of changing my spark plugs to 605's. When I pulled the plug wires off, two of the metal ends (of the plug wires) stayed on the old spark plugs. I had to get pliers to pull them off the plugs. I pushed the metal ends back up in the SP end, but I don't know if I got it far enough in. Dumb question: OK, two questions...Did I screw up my plug wires? Is that center core (whatever you want to call it) supposed to be attached to the metal thing or just make contact with it? | |

| How old are wires, and what kind are they?
Most likely you'll need a new set. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Ok I lied, I found the invoice...$30. I guess I'm goin to take off work and change the plug wires this morning since you're not telling me what I want to hear. Never fails, I try to do something simple and it turns into a cluster fµ k. At least it's goin to be 80 degrees today! | |

| She runs MUCH better now. I just can't decide if it runs better because I changed the plugs and wires or if it's because I cleaned and waxed her? I know it's total , but does anyone else think their car runs better when it's clean?? | |

| Not really when it is clean as much as when I do some simple maintenence or repair to it. Even some simple light bulb replacement or such. I haven't cleanded the riv in a while so I will have to test that out. | |

| the wax gives better air flow over the paint so you have less drag thats like 3 seconds off your 1/4 miles time but i notice it runs better when clean too _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | It's your wires, 95% certain. OEM are the best, Imo. They'll often last 100k miles. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| could be a dirty maf. they can cause wierd problems at mid throttle+. if wires dont fix it then buy a $3 can of intake/maf cleaner and spray it down, at the very least you'll have a clean intake and get proper readings from the maf. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black.
