regal harmonic balancer?

so when you push down on the belt it sounds like a crunching sound from the supercharger itself, in front of the supercharger pulley to the tensioner is where im talking about

it only makes that noise when you push on it like you where checking your idler to see if it had tension, anyways he thought his tensioner was goin out but its not

could this be the harmonic balancer?

Is it not just the belt on the pulley? Doesn't sound like a balance issue to me. Is it loud? Not happening while running? Pushing down on the belt will cause the belt edges to rub on the pulley, making a little bit of a squeaking sound.

Try taking the belt off, see if the noise is still there. While the belt is off pull and push and spin the supercharger and see what kinds of noises the SC is really making.

Also, while the belt is off make sure the tensioner moves freely. It could be the pivot in the tensioner is wearing out and giving some noisy feedback.

While the belt is off, check all the idler pullies. They are known for bearing failure.

we took the belt off and nothing, only when we put on the belt youd hear the noise...its a considerable noise, a grinding grudge

Does it sound metallic? Or just a rattling sound? Check all the pulleys for smooth operation, by hand. They should all be quiet and smooth. Also may be a worn snout coupler.

I'd bet on the snout coupler then. Remove the SC belt, does the pulley turn back and forth very far before it engages?

There can be some slop in the supercharger coupler. If you rotate the SC pulley back and forth quickly do you feel some free spin and then a little clunk when you switch directions? When the coupler wears you get some slop there. It also make a heck of a racket while running.
