About to Come Back to the RIV Empty
PostSubject: About to Come Back to the RIV   About to Come Back to the RIV EmptyWed Oct 29, 2008 1:48 pm

I had a 1988 Buick Riviera for my first car and I loved it but it was getting old and had alot of miles on it so I got rid of it and got a 06 Mazda 3. I am now in the process of selling that 3 so I can get back to Riviera. Anyways I am looking at a 1998 Riv with 68,000 miles and they want 4500 for it and I was wondering if that was a good deal or not.

That's about what I paid for mine almost 3 years ago with about the same mileage. Mine was a very clean one owner car with a few small issues that needed taking car of. But overall I'm pleased with my purchase.
What condition, color, etc is this car?

Sounds good to me. I paid $3800 for a tahoe and straight traded it for my Riv two months after I bought it(How bout that, Shintsu?) Both had about the same miles and both ran very well. The tahoe was worth more$$$ but I got the better end of the deal.

Either way if I had t do it again I would think thats a good deal (ur situation) providing it runs fine and not too much body damage.

$4500 is a good price, DEPENDING on condtion! Mine was near perfect 2 years ago, at $6000 and 100k.

If it's in reasonable condition that's a reasonable price.

My '98 has about 190,000 miles on it now. Aggressive maintenance, synthetic oil. Still a good daily driver.

You might like the mechanical mods that are possible on the RIve more than on the Mazda. Or not.

I think its a good deal because I paid $10,000 cash at the dealer for my 98 in 2004. It only had 31,500 miles on it though, but you can get Rivs alot cheaper now,i wish that I would've waited to buy mine. No I dont, I take that back. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS with the purchase I made. With all of the dependability and fun that shes brought me happy 3gears
