Those should fit just fine. +42mm offset would move the wheel inward 10mm compared to stock.

You can get those measurements pretty much everywhere. IMO 17's look perfect, and they should be 16's (at least mine were).

You'll need a tuner (DHP/HPT) to change the pulses per mile value. It's based on tire size, not the rim. Stock value for 60R16 is 23314. For 45R18 I use 22880. Other tires will vary slightly, but that's probably close enough for most.

No doubt, will hopefully drive the wheel manufacturers to add more options smile

The ATS is going to be a hit, and lots of owners will want to customize the wheels. And given the ATS' performance credibility, we may have more performance (forged light weight, strong and maybe less expensive due to volume) options as well.

I think the 8" wide wheel should work with +38mm offset. For 8.5" wide, +38mm would probably work, too. There is a chance of strut rub with 8.5" wide wheels and certain tires, with larger offsets. I don't think +38mm is too large, but I haven't tried it.

Also check the center bore measurement. Read the early pages of this thread for info re: hub-centric rings. Good luck.

Don't know whether to put this in here or in the wheels that look good thread, so mods can move this if they want.

I'm looking at a set of 17" G35 rims that are pretty well priced. They're 5x114.3, but everything I've read says people run that size without issue on Grand Prixs and such. My main concern is that the center bore on the Infiniti rims is 66.1, while ours is 70.3. I tried looking for a spacer that would take our size down to the 66.1, but I couldn't find anything. I don't know much about spacers so I might just be looking in the wrong places. If such a spacer doesn't exist, could I just have the center bored out to 70.3 on the Infiniti rims?

I don't think you can do down in bore size using hubcentric rings; you can only go bigger. For example, if the G35 wheels had a 73 mm bore, you could easily fit to our hubs. Machining the wheel center is the way to go, should be no problem for a machine shop or competent wheel repair business.

Here's the alum bore spacer used in my Enkei wheels. Their bore is 72.62 mm ID.

I just called the machine shop up the road. The lady thinks he can do it, but she's going to have him call me back. I'm not about to ghetto rig it and take a router to them in hopes of making a perfect circle.

Should be easy peezy job for machine shop. Be sure to check for any interfering parts, and only machine the needed depth to install on your hub. Maybe buy an extra hub to measure from.

I have an extra hub I can give him for measurements. However, in my searches I found something entirely different....

How many of yall are running 8" wheel width?

I am looking at wheels and tires and seeing options for 7 and 8 with a 17" wheel.

I am thinking wider = more grip so I'm leaning towards an 8.

Please advise.

My American Racing wheels are 8" wide. With the tires mounted, they're about 9-1/2" wide....
There's room for more too.

Room for more you say? I am trying to get it right the first time. Not trying to drop ~$1k and not have it perfect! Will you help point me in the right direction?

I was looking at 17" wheels as light as possible with 8" width.

Should I be looking for 9" width wheels?

Charlie, just a suggestion since I know you like the biggest and the best.

Why not get a set of 18" wheels with a 32mm or less offset and beat me to the CTS-V caliper upgrade? The FRONT rims off of the GXP are a great option for this.......

Your options for a 17x9" wheel are going to be EXTREMELY limited. Most 17x9" wheels are RWD dedicated, or they have the wrong offset. I'd have to look at what the offset of mine are. I don't remember. I've got the 245/45's on there now. I think the next set of tires are going to be 255/45's if I can find them. Tire options get minimal when you start getting into "weird" sizes.

I want to go as light as possible with as much grip as possible. That happy medium is where I want to be. 18" wheels arent out of the question but I have been looking at 17s mostly.

I am not very interested in the CTSV calipers. Fbody calipers should do me just fine.
