| need to be 5x115 with a +30 or higher offset. they probably would not work simply b/c the offset of a RWD car is different than a FWD. spinners... :punk: you'll never be faster than that srt-4 if you increase the size of the rim and add the extra weight of spinners. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | 2nd gen w-bodies use mustang wheels all the time. do a search on clubgp.com for mustang wheels. theyll probably fit in terms of bolting on and not rubbing but not w/ the taste of the car imo | |

| they are most likely 5x114.3 bolt pattern, they will still fit but will not ride as nice. just check with him to find the bolt pattern and offset. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | Is anyone riding dubs and up? If so post a pic!
I'm thinking of getting some 20'' Black Dubs For My Rivi......
When putting rims that size on the rivi is there anything i should know? Like offset & do i need a adapter? This will be my first time purchasing rims so I'm a newbie at this also!
I'm about to post a pic of the rims..........

| One reason I (and I know a few others agree) don't ride on big rims like that... it'll make your car slower. Even non-supercharged Rivs will be able to keep up with you! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| 22" will fit. I know this because of the infamous ebay riv with the "22"" label on the rear quarter. Offset shouldn't be a big deal, get an offset in the 30's range and that should counter the increased tire width. You will only need an adapter if you get wheels that aren't 5x115. You'll also be riding on rubber band tires, so I suggest you avoid every pothole. Or you could donk it with a silverado skyjacker suspension kit and 38" rimz. | |

| I like that rim, but I would not go over 17's on my Riv. I don't mind the stock wheels for now, but when I next need tires, will probably look aftermarket rims as well. | |

| i would say that's a slightly better than fair price. i would guess that would typically run about 3-3.5k for the year/miles/condition.
and yes you can put 22" on it although i promise 18-20" looks really nice! 22" is more than necessary.

| Man it's like I'm making duplicate accounts or something... 22"s will work, just some minor rubbing on the front of the front fenter with the wheels cut, check the sig pic for my sick setup. | |

| Never understood why people spend money on rims. I have never changed the rims on a car or truck that I have owned, my dollars go to performance. It must be that I am cheap. | |

| There are three reasons I would change a rim: 1) The factory wheels are too small for the car, or they are not nice-looking; 2) The car is going to be raced, so a weight reduction or handling improvement is needed; or 3) One or more of the OEM wheels are damaged/defective.
The older style was 14 or 15" wheels with a bigger tire wall, but most modern sedans use a lower profile wall with a bigger 17" or 18" wheel. Upgrading to a bigger wheel while decreasing tire wall size will change the look of the car, making it look more current and up-to-date. This is commonly referred to as a "+1" or "+2" upgrade. You get a bigger wheel, but it won't throw off your speedo. Imo, 18"s on the Riviera look very good proportionally.
Factory wheels might be made of aluminum, but they're heavy, especially with all that chrome on there. Wheels can be made amazingly light nowadays. Decreasing their mass can enable you to accelerate and brake more efficiently. Changing to a wider wheel with a lower profile tire can change the ride and handling of the car quite a bit. If you really want to stick in the turns, this could be the key. Tires can affect overall handling more so than struts, springs, stabilizer bars, etc.
If you hit a curb or pothole hard enough to crack or bend a rim, or if you just get tired of nursing a set of constantly leaking factory wheels, it's tempting to look into replacements. New factory wheels are going to be expensive, probably more than a lot of aftermarket sets. I know a guy who bought a Saturn Sky and refused the chrome wheel option because it was priced at $3k. Instead, he bought a nice set of aftermarkets with tires and saved a grand in the process. While it's true that used OEM replacements could be had for less, you're taking the chance that the new ones won't be perfect. As we all know, our chrome/aluminum wheels are notorious for leaking around the bead, used ones are no exception. The only way to really solve this is to change to a different design. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^
