| So, I have noticed in all the Rivs I have ever seen I don't usually see any bumper stickers on them nor many custom plates. My question - how many of you have custom plates (on the front if you don't need dual license plates) and/or bumper stickers? I won't mention what kind, but I am extremely tempted to put a bumper sticker on my Riv however I have not due to the tackiness of it and people already drive like shitheads around me and this sticker wouldn't help it...(Not that I give a damn)
I'm thinking about ordering a look-a-like state plate on the front with custom text in it or possibly a plain out custom text front plate. Anyone done this to share? I need to put SOMETHING on my front plate holder since I'm not going to take it off and it really does look silly not having anything on it.

| As long as it's already there, why not just slap your state plate on? Bumper stickers on the Riv?? I have a custom plate on the rear: BLWNRIV . Last summer some stupid chick on the back of a bike was next to my side at a light. She yells "I like your "blowing" Riv plate! | |

| Why would I put my state plate on the front? You only have to have one on the back - why would I pay extra for one to put on the front? I'd rather a custom one up front...
In my defense, I wouldn't have put it on the bumper or anything, it would've been put on the back windshield at the bottom.

| I don't see where you mention a front plate not being required where you live. ND does require one, but I don't have one, never been one on the car. From FL to MN to ND, no front plate, no bracket. I seriously doubt I'll ever be pulled over here for not having it.
If you don't want to put the state plate on the front, I think you'd be much happier pulling the bracket and having the holes patched and painted.

| I don't have the money for that...I'm putting a custom plate on it because it's cheap and I have the bracket already on there...I have a state plate on the back. That's it. | |

| I suppose there would be 4 holes left if you just removed the bracket? I think someone else here has done that, didn't look all that bad. A nice custom plate would look pretty good too though. | |

| Yeah, I'm trying to think of one. I have words in mind if I get a custom made one, but I'm not opposed to something like one of those shiny chrome ones (although all those have Buick badges on them - I'd want one that says Riviera). | |

| If you join the Riviera Owners Assoc, you can purchase a fine looking front plate...black background with silver ROA logo. In MA, you are required to have both a rear and front license plate. You'll get pulled over/fined if you don't have the front one (anything to add to the state's budget deficit!). I have vanity plates for my 2 '92 riv's..RIVI92 & RIV92 at $73 per yr. My 2 eldo's have specialty plates (save the whale plates) for $81 per 2yrs. | |

| Hmm, I'm starting to think about just customizing my actual license plate. I always hated the thought because I drive aggressive which probably pisses people off...and since the Riv is usually in front of the people I piss off they'd see it nice and easy.
Any ideas for a custom plate? KY is lame, we can't have 7 characters so it has to be six letters and includes room for a space but no more than 6 characters. Heh, if only it had a few more spaces I like RIV IT UP or RIVIN IT. Funny enough, RUN DMC is not taken but I'm not a fan it just popped in my head. Hilariously enough, I could get a plate that says LOL OMG or WTFBBQ. Some more: PWNS-U, RCK ROL or RIK ROL, one appropriate for me but again back to the pissing people off thing IH8PPL. lol, I'm just plugging stuff in - here's the plate availabilty if you want to make a suggestion: KY MVL
Apparently KY isn't "with it" on the internet stuff since those two are available. Funny stuff though. Any more ideas?

| There are likely a LOT of letter combos that show as being available, but that doesn't mean they'd get approved if you submitted them. I know ND has a review process after you submit a request online. Questionable submissions are rejected. | |

| In fact, when we submit an online request for a custom plate, we are required to spell out and/or explain the meaning also. | |

| Someone has LOL WTF, I think LOL OMG would be approved. Same for WTFBBQ, RCK ROL/RIK ROL, PWNS-U, and I've seen the IH8PPL plate on a car in another state (found it through a search) so it may be approved as well.
Does anyone know what these plates mean without me saying? Trying to see how obvious this is to most people what it stands for. F-BO or F-BHO
There's another totally obvious one available but if I mention it the meaning is a dead give away...

| lol, it's what I'd do. For FBO I'd just say it means Free Bread Organization designed to free bread from it's captive containers. They'd just look at me like I'm weird and let me have it - and that's not what it stands for even slightly. | |
