Removing the stock radio Empty
PostSubject: Removing the stock radio   Removing the stock radio EmptyMon Mar 26, 2007 3:08 pm

I'm looking to install an ipod kit for my car. I have the kit and everything, but I don't know how to get the radio out. I didn't see a DIY or anything on here so I fugured I'd ask.

Also another thing that's been bothering me is that I can't find a chilton or bently repair manual for our cars, or even the aurora. Any clues about that either? Thanks

I don't think there are chilton/haynes manuals available specifically for our cars. They might be in a general repair book. Look for a factory service manual, they usually turn up on ebay for pretty cheap. I managed to get my 3 vol FSM set from a closing shop for real cheap.

there are no repair manuals for the 95-99 riv except for the gm service volume set. i think there is a how to in the FAQ but if not i can email you some instructions. (the site i got it from now charges to view it so i cant just post it up frown
its not difficult to pull the head unit, baisicly just remove the black part of the top inner part of the dash then undo 3 side screws and 5-6 top screws(?), unsnap the entire dash, unplug the traction control/reset and light wires and then there are 3 screws holding the head unit in place.
are you our first female riv owner??? welcome to the forum!hi
