Some different internals, different induction, different S/C. Aside from it being a 3800, it's a different engine. | |

| Two things to bear in mind, like Scott said, very different animals in terms of tuning. SeriesIII is throttle by wire, different fuel system, etc. which will make for a little different factory tuning strategy. That being said the second thing is the base timing table is not without a handful of timing modifier tables that are also gonna be different and for all I know offset that seemingly hotter timing most of the time in real life. You would kinda have to scan an L32 car driving around to see if it really does all that timing there. | |

| I once read that 27.5 was the ideal idle timing. Have you ever heard this?
Interesting to see the differences between stock 97 and 99 timing tables.
