Hey everyone new to the board just thought I'd share some pictures of my new Riviera. Its a 1998 with 115k miles on it. Has some after market rims and tints put on by the previous owner. Let me know what you guys think I should do to it over the summer when I have a little time on my hands.

Paint is a little faded from the florida sun but overall looks pretty good and runs like a top. I'll get some more pics up when I get a chance.

I could almost swear I just saw your car today, but it was probably a different one...

Anyway welcome to the club buddy!

Not sure on the name of the color and while looking around the site I don't think I saw any that had the same color. It's a little darker than most of the blues I see around. Maybe someone will chime in with the proper name for it

Welcome!

Very stylish, man! I like tinted windows and paint contrast here. Just need little paint buffing...What is that oval badge on C-pillar?

BTW, this car look like #27 "Twilight Blue Metallic" , according to '98 Riviera sales brochure. You can verify color code from "RPO decal" under your spare tire plastic lid.

What are the ovals behind the side windows? The rims you've got are probably the most appropriate after-markets I've seen on a Riv. You should start some breathing mods first (FWI, DP, etc.) Then go on to a MPS and temp. control mods. Looks clean, welcome to the board.

the ovals are emblems that say signature edition. there is also one on the inside where the ash tray is. I've been thinking of debadging the car taking off everything other than the supercharged emblem. Not many people know what make of car it is because there isnt buick emblems all over it which I kind of like.

Can you post closeup pictures of "Signature" emblems? I never heard of such a thing!

I's kind of fun when people don't know what you're drivin', but after I got few questions "is this a Rover?", I decided to put on Buick heritage on the car---->

New 98 rivi on the block Img1863817

I'm kind of proud for having American Buick (not some lame british junk) here in Finland, but you understandably don't care to tell everyone it's a Buick. Anyway my opinion is that Riviera badges are quite cool and stylish.

O-M-G!

What a small world, man! Cool! I will contact you when it comes to repaint, yes.

It was very good quality show, indeed. I spoke to John D'Agostino (Kustom Kar guru), the guy even took pictures of me and my gal', good fella!

Anyway, you're right 'bout my paint, but it must wait, 'cause other projects. By the way you say no boattail Rivs there, ehhh well, what's this then? ---->

As requested here is a picture of the signature edition badge. There are two on the outside and one on the cover for the ash tray. Idk if it was a special package or a dealer add on and I'm not sure what exactly makes it a signature edition.

Methinks these cars should be exempt from license plates.

interesting badge...never seen it before.

those license plates (black ones)
are used in finland on old cars +20years what have **% originality.
they can be registrered as museum cars. they have smaller taxes and can be driven like any other car on rod.

Thanks. Its hard to tell in the picture but the tints have a slight blue shade to them which I think really pops with the blue paint. After I wash the car and charge the battery for my camera I'll get some more pictures up along with some interior shots.

A couple undated pictures after a quick wash and wax. Polished up the wheels as well I think they came out pretty well.

Someone backed into the car and drove off 2 days after I bought it. Turns out its cracked in a way that lets air right into the area where the airbox pulls air from so I try to tell myself its a mod and not just the result of some asshole that hit my riv and drove off.

These Signature Edition badges are nothing more than dealer add-ons to get more money out of the buyer's pocket. They're also on my 98, but will be coming off, I don't care for them at all.

So since my last post Ive done a couple things to the riv. It has a "stealth" boost gauge where the ash tray used to be. I also painted the woodgrain in the center console black and plan to do the same with the woodgrain trim around the radio when I finally get around to replacing the radio ( new one is in the trunk just need a dash kit so everything lines up). I also added a custom fwi. Should have some pictures up later tonight or tomorrow.
