Thanks guys! The Riv is my daily driver for the last 11 years Robo, shes seen it all. Kyle, the dash is from the factory, the only thing that is aftermarket are the switch plate pieces, they are from Sherwood.

Whoops, I didn't realize you could actually get a Riviera with a wood dash like that from the factory. I've only seen the aftermarket ones. Must have been a rare option?

Actually, I don't think you could - which is why he was able to match the grain with the extra Sherwood parts...
The dash was probably done by a previous owner or as a dealer-installed option.

Hmmmm, the previous owner was the owner of the dealership I bought the Riv from, he said that he loved this car and ordered it that way. Also, the Sherwood rep that I was dealing with to match the wood grain said that it didn't look like it was aftermarket, and that it must be factory original because he thought it was real wood veneer? scratch

Maybe that's the answer: As the dealer he was able to get a special order, like the Yenko Camaros. idea

If it was a regular production option, I would surely think that more original owners would have ordered it - and more dealers would have loaded it onto their showroom cars...

Damn, I sure wish they still hid the build-sheets in the back seat upholstery!

You can pick up a unit like that at a Best Buy, auto audio specialists store or any place that will sell and install stereos. It fit well, but I had to modify the reverse to keep it put.
