i think its the pump like eldo said not much of a noise in the steering but it does work above 1500 rpm thats a good indication

Yes, that's verrrry low mileage - I thought that I was lucky to grab one at 69K 4 years ago...

When you find that "honest shop" to do the steering pump, ask them what they think about doing the pressure hose at the same time (it's the short one, compared with the return hose that loops around the whole engine bay...)

The part should only cost about $40-50 at shop prices - ask them to check the additional labor. They have hydraulic lifts, so it may not be too bad. And "while they're in there", it still probably makes sense even with the low miles - it IS 12 years old... And get a written estimate!
