Again one problem! Grrrrrr! Empty
PostSubject: Again one problem! Grrrrrr!   Again one problem! Grrrrrr! EmptyTue Jun 16, 2009 12:27 pm

So i was driving today for 1h on a rainy day.
everythign was just fin untill i parked my car beside road, leted the engine stay running.
and cone to talk whit my friend. after ~5-10minutes started to drive and...wtf!...it made one weard noise...don't relly know how to explane relly...but it had no power....feelt like the gearbox was not going in 1st gear...or something...stoped beside road...and truyed to rev the engine in neutral....heard from exhaust how some of the fuel was exploading there...toght that maybe there is missfireing again in my engine like it was 10months ago. but this time it worked out after i changed sparkplugs and wires :S....but anyways the ''service engine soon'' light started to flach and then stayed on. on low revs it dos not sound diferent but when i even step on the gass bedal gently it makes //burrrrrrrrrrr....

i don't have the service manuals here at home...could anyone write out again on what reesons the service engine light flaches/stays on??

just getting more and more dissepointed on this car..when things like that happen...cant belive... frown

SES lights flash as an extra warning to turn the car off! it is usually associated with multiple cylinder misfires.
get the code(s) read and get back to us.

sounds somewhat like what happened to me when my harmonic balancer went bad. can you check to see if it is wobbling or if the rubber has cracked?

Had you worked on the car any time before this happened? If so, what were you working on?

How hot was the engine after you let it idle in park for 10 mins?

Tell us more about the "weird noise".

the engine temp was normal...180-190F

the engine made strong vibration, like it had no power...same feelign as driving whit one car whit manual gearbox and having one high gear in on low speed.
just vibrates when truy to accelarate frown

last time when i did anythign was on fryday when i just checked the engine (engine oil/gearbox oil, cleaned air filter)

the SES is not flachign anymore its just on...
and why the hell they write on the warning light....SERVICE ENGINE SOON! instead of.....GET YOUR CAR FAST AS POSSIBLE TO THE CLOSEST SERVICE!!!

well im very disepointed...
i will check the sparkplug wires on morning when the engine is cold. if they are fine...will truy to drive to work (5km) and when its still doing the same thing...guess i have to go back to uno to get some tools and space for checking the engine. if this wount help will let hes naber read the trobble codes...

I would guess spark plug wires. Idling hot after a wet rainy drive probably soaked them. Next time they dry out they'll probably be fine until the next time they get wet...

I'm still on my original spark plug wires with 140K miles, but I have them all shielded in split loom tubing and have for many years, to prevent rubbing on corners and the other wires. Exposed, they should be ready to replace. Normal wear and tear...

My wires went at 109k miles. If you have a pulsation or hesitation only during hard acceleration, that's likely the problem. During normal driving the wires work fine because the ignition voltage is less.

One way to diagnose is to temporarily remove the SC belt. You won't build boost, so secondary spark tables won't engage, and there's no hesitation.

again, sounds like my broken crank pulley. easy to check when you take a look at the wires. at least rule it out.

okay....now got a code...P0300....what means missfireing in engine?

anyways...checked today sparkplugs...even tho they should be good i guess cos changed them after i buyed the car..(in september2008)
found out that one sparkplug was a litle bit loos..took them all off..cleaned and visualy inspected..they seemed to be good.
then checked the sparkplugs...cleaned them and visualy wived..buted them back on..started teh car and...grrrr...still the same thing...on low rpm runs fine...atleast sounds..
and when step on gas...so much that the sc starts...the engine starts to missfire again..and can hear from exhaust noise how some of the fuil is exploading in mufflers..
then..started to check 3 wires on the front whit one electricity resistans checker...or how ever it may be called...it showed atleast that they had resistans and where fine...did not check the rear ones..cos had to go home....
left my car there.. will go give another truy again on morning...

any ideas?

Have you replace the wires or not? If not, the wires are likely the problem.
