Wire Harness Help Empty
PostSubject: Wire Harness Help   Wire Harness Help EmptyMon Jul 27, 2009 12:49 pm

can someone do me a favor and take a picture of the wire harness that the cam sensor runs off of. its setting off the SES light. the guy in FLA put a bandaid on it and now when i start the car on any type of grade, it comes on. sometimes will come on while flat too. so if sum1 could take a pic of where it is and could go one step further and give me a link of where i can get one...that would be awesome. thanks guys

The cam sensor wires go directly to the ignition control module. It would be a tricky thing to photograph on a fully dressed motor. Most of the harness is kind of hidden underneath the front accessories.

don't forget he's got a S1 engine - I have no idea what that harness looks like on a series I. I was about to answer your question then I realized it is for completely the wrong motor. frown Sorry.

Can any of the series 1 guys help out here??

I'm pretty sure if you can get a new harness, it will only be from GM. You are better off looking for used.

Best thing is to probably hit up a junkyard. On the S2's GM used the same harness from ICM to crank and cam sensors. Not sure if they did that S1 or not, if they did...it should be easy to get one at a JY.

Done from above, here is the Svs Man instructions:

The words "Remove or Disconnect" should be above where the red arrow points.

Belts have to come off, and the water pump pulley.

Have fun with it thumbsup
