It started right up and runs fine now other than the SES lights i've been getting. less than 3* KR, peaks of 15lbs of boost and a whole shit load more hp/tq.
I redid the lines so they are closer to the pic above and i am using the spare port by the booster line to run the evap and trans. (i had the evap plugged in there with my gen 3 due to the N* and it ran fine all year.)
So if the trans still slips after this then i'm thinking new torque converter. If the evap light comes on again, i'll be confused since its basically the way it was before the swap.

Maybe you can explain how a Torque Converter can fail from having a vacuum line hooked up temporarily incorrectly. Rick

I'm thinking it failed from 400ft-lb torque and 163k miles of racing. The several runs i did scanning to 90mph the day i did the gen V probably killed off what little was left of the clutch material, add on the hard shifting from the vac lines, and 108*C trans temp didnt help anything. (tho the fluid still looks/smells good)
I'm hoping you're right Rick.

Well the car is running great! the new vac setup seems to be working and i dont have any more SES lights or slipping transmission. Took a 70mile trip and with cruse at 70 the rpm stayed at exactly 1900 the whole time!
Big thanks to Rick who helped me trouble shoot this!

That's great news! And that video shows the car is quick!
My '98 started slipping on occasion when in TCC lock-up, when under a lot of load. I've been testing a new PCM tune which excludes TCC lock-up altogether. The problem seems to be getting progressively worse, so eventually I'll be disabling the TCC permanently.

After hearing and seeing the Vid and the fact that you can maintain 70MPH at 1900 RPM makes me a little sorry i sold my Gen V. But it was a decision i made and I'm happy for the guy who got a great deal on it. Rick

Your right around stock RPM, on flat ground. But your making a lot more torque and HP, so it should translate into better MPG's I hope.

Did you clock that 0-85 mph time. The one in the vid or was that with vacuum hooked up wrong.? I can't remember.

the video was with the vac hoocked up right. 0-60 was under 6s but i rolled into it 60-80 in 4s 85-30 3.5s
Times are from a video editing program with frame by frame play. Still not very accurate times though. i'm hoping to make it to the track next week and break 13's

That was the kind of time for what i was interested in knowing. I wouldn't do anything, but from a roll on in real world drivin, just to save the trans. I know you can't get track times on the street.
