Not to mention the hold-down nut on the spare-tire cover, and the radio/climate-control... Other than being a '95 it's a sweet ride, though. (But he's outa' his mind on the price!)

| For a 95' I'd want that black interior or a better color than light gray. And the exterior... is that purple or something? :/ | |

| that thing cost them almost $5.00/mile for the use they got - at 13.5 asking price, the seller is taking a nasty bath.

| $5.00 a mile. WOW! That is the nature of depreciation. It is a non-cash expense. You only really incur that cost when you sell the item.
That got me to thinking about my cars cost per mile and I came up with $0.2056/mile for everything. Gas has been about $0.11/mile of that.
$13,500 seems pretty outrageous for a 16 year old car. They may get it. Anything comparable would cost 3 to 5 times as much.
Has anyone else calculated the cost/mile of their Rivs?

Anything comparable will cost more or less depending on how you look at it. A new comparable costs more if you think of the cash price of buying a new comparable, such as the Cadillac CTS (who knew GM would get the Catera straightented out?). Cateras list (acc to Motor Trend) around $39,000. A new comparable costs less if you plan to use it. The "sweet spot" is probably to buy one after it takes the big depreciation hit (2 or 3 y.o. off a lease probably) and in turn sell it in 2-3 years while there is still a strong market, when it's say 4-5 y.o. And in that part of the "less" is in the practical aspects of owning and running the car. Although that low mileage Riv costs less in initial cash outlay, the maintenance and repair uncertainties can endanger its use as a daily driver - if for instance you live in the northeast in an area that uses corrosive road salt and while driving along one sunny summer day discover that your front subframe has crapped out. Getting parts for the Riv can be, as some of the newer list members are learning, an (ahem) interesting exercise. Some are common GM parts and relatively cheap. Some are made of Unobtainium. Result is that the apparent cash cost is less but the risk-adjusted cost is such that if you're in the rust belt and have not taken precautions this (or any other older car) is a rotten risk as a daily driver. If something big goes wrong you are hossed; don't have that risk with a newer car. I am thinking that the major reason someone might buy a low mileage Riviera is if they think it can be sold to someone else later for more. Will it appreciate 6% or 10% or whatever per year, is the question. If it's just that you wanted a Riv to drive, probably the thing to do is buy one as inexpensively as you can, with service records, and refurbish it. Your further thoughts? Albertj

| That guy is certainly a bit over-the-top on the price, although she does look to be in great condition & has very low mileage.
I am a fan of the gold side emblem, not so much the wood pattern dash panels (ehhh - it reminds me too much of a 1980's station wagon or a new PT Cruiser), the gray interior is OK, not too big of a fan there either.
1995's<3 I need to get me another.

Price is high, again. I cannot say I'm a fan of those wheels at ALL. That's worse than the first one 3X as many miles and they want another grand for it. We ought to keep an eye on these sales and see if anyone actually buys them. Maybe the Riv will become collectible after all? BTW my Riv has those rims and I think they look good for 16's. They don't contrast as much with silver paint. They look a little odd in those pics but I've seen them on a white Riv in person and they didn't look bad. The grey plastic cladding looked awful on white, but the rims were o.k.

| that 95 is one clean car. 3 things bother me though. 1) the spark plug wires at the boot look cooked. 2) the exhaust has been painted. 3) the owner is nuts. | |

| I think that they are asking too much. I couple of years ago I saw a red 99 in Birmingham that only had about 40k miles. They ended up selling it for $9,000. I do not think anyone will bid on these. They may eventually sell for $9k. I like the 96 better due the color and the fact that it is Series II. | |

| I'd be willing to bet that car is going to have some serious issues in the near future. Sitting for that long is not good for the car. | |

| I see a radiator hose. Don't see anything on the other right - but I don't know what I'm looking for either.
You think it's been used as an unmarked patrol car?
