'89 Riviera, 183,333km (116,00 mi), one-owner car, body is excellent. Needs RF spring, one brake line, small stuff. My project for next Spring.

We need pics. I absolutely love that generation Riviera. The interior IMHO is one of the nicer ones.

I will try to take pics. I actually have been watching this particular car since the day it was bought, always told the owner (a client of mine) that he was never to sell it without calling me first. He called me last week, so now it is mine, 22 years later, for $500. I love the design, especially the back end and the interior. My wife is amazed at the passenger legroom.

Sounds like what I did with my last car. I literally stalked it until the owner finally gave in and sold it to me. lol

Congratulations on your 89 Riviera purchase. As you read through this forum you'll notice there are a few of us that own this era Riviera (I conceded that its the 7th generation...see forum topic about it!!!). Yours is the first year for the slantback of this generation and the last year for the CRT screen. My 92 is currently "Riviera of the Month".

The best advice I can give you is 1) buy yourself an 89 factory service manual (one on EBay right now for the 89 Riviera/Reatta), and 2) join the Riviera Owners Association forth with if not sooner (go to www.rivowners.org). You'll get good info and support from both.

We need pics.....

Welcome, great story! Have you considered stainless steel for your brake line repair? My Riv had a leak when I got it. Classic Tubing in Lancaster, NY made me a whole set, every brake line for $125.00. They didn't have a template for mine, so I carfully removed them and they copied them to perfection. no more worries and they look amazing. If you are interested, I can post their phone number when I get to work.

Thanks Dave, I would like that info. We occasionally go to Watertown/Syracuse, so Lancaster is not too far off our beaten path.

Hey Jon, how far are you from Buffalo? Classic Tube is about 15 minutes from the Peace Bridge (Fort Erie).
