L32 starter? Empty
PostSubject: L32 starter?   L32 starter? EmptyThu Apr 26, 2007 12:53 pm

i was looking at the differences between the L67 and new L32 engines, and it looks like they changed the starter on the L32. i think it was a fiero swap site, but it said the new and improved starter lasts just as long(have to wait and see on that one), has the same power, but weighs 2.5lbs less! so if my starter dies, can i just get a L32 starter to replace it? should bolt up the same right? 2.5lbs isnt alot but every bit helps, and if it does tha same thing...
has anyone had to replace their starter yet?

I had a starter replace under warrenty. It would work intermittantly. Some times I couldnt get the car started till mid morning when it warmed up 10 degrees. The dealer said that carbon or corrosion could build up on sections of the stators and cause high resistance. Not an out and out failure, but irritating when your car suddenly wont start once ever 12 starts. crazy

i had that problem on my riding lawn mower lol the magnets would get gumed up with dirt and carbon and it wouldn't turn over fast/strong enough to start the engine rolleyes i had to pull it apart and clean it every year headshot those things are hard to get back together with all the little springs.
