| Alright, well then. What about the possible interchanges? Does a 1996 Riviera Boost Bypass Valve and Boost Control Solenoid fit on the 1995? | |

No. SeriesI and SeriesII BBV's are not compatible with each other.

| if your 95 has alot of miles ine her and on the original injectors, you might consider getting them cleaned. or you can go to mr.injector.com and buy a fuel injector servive kit. it has everything, all new pintl caps orings, but most important ,new filters. $25. my filters looked barely usable. this might help. has anyone recomended checking out the crank position sensor? | |

| Thanks for all the input. Injectors and fuel filter are all on the list.
I JUST got the car 4 days ago, so it's history is pretty much a mystery. All I know is it has 175 thousand miles on it and 100-thousand on the new tranny.
I feel foolish, but I took my first took under the hood at the supercharger this evening. I inspected the BBV and noticed there seems to be small hose missing. The line would be on the driver side of the unit, towards the front of the car. Does anybody have a ny idea what it is and where it runs to?

The boost control solenoid is towards the front of the car, and it does have a vent line pointing to the drivers side... It is normally covered with a foam filter, but they get soft and their proximity to the changing of thermostats gets them destroyed. If I'm right, here's an "aftermarket" replacement that a member created: Link

You are correct, sir!
(And to make things worse, GM has a horrible habit of misnaming parts - I think the spare BCS I bought for my '97 was considered an "Evap Valve"... )
Turns out I was close... I found my photos of the spare part before I packed it away, halfway down this page. The GM parts tag calls it a Supercharger 'W' Valve, while the Delco sticker on the same box calls it an Evap Solenoid!

If I'm right, here's an "aftermarket" replacement that a member created: Link Yeah, that's it, So I do mean the BCS. My head is spinning with all the different names and different parts and differences in model years. At least I'm getting to know the nomenclature. I was talking to another guy who knows a little bit about them, says the BCS may have gone bad on me. Is there a way to bypass is just to test it to see if that's the issue? How about a P/N? I understand the BCS isn't that bad, it's the BBV that is.

| Trevor, Yes, you can try bypassing the BCS to see if it is robbing you of boost... If you connect a vacuum hose directly from the Throttle-Body to the TB side of the BBV diaphragm, and plug the pressure hose that comes to the BCS from the manifold below the supercharger, you can run it temporarily without the solenoid being a factor. If performance doesn't improve, just put it back the way it was and make yourself a little filter for that vent port, to keep dirt out of the valve & diaphragm. If it does get better when you bypass the BCS, then check out this thread. My post on that page has both Series' part numbers. However, also check out the bottom of the previous page: BlackRose613 has a few used SI BCSolenoids that he can sell cheaper than new ones... Good luck. | |

Am I wrong on this. If not they are definitely 2 different parts. Had to replace the bcs on my 95 and while hard to find they are only about $50-$60. Thought it was the vavle itself that was expensive and also hard to find.
If you are still actice on this site could you take a look at my post. Thanks , Mark !!! HELP !!!! Runs Like SHIT// Starts then dies// When it runs NO power!! Runs Like SHIT// Starts then dies// When it runs NO power!! Wed Aug 15, 2012 7:04 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Real quick things that have been addressed 1Cat//2MAF//3Plugs//4various sensors to measure current with voltmeter//5 NO Check Engine Light… even when I ran it without the Cat... probably more but, I can’t think straight anymore because of this car! I had a mechanic tell me the part in the pic, is a vacuum assist for the SC. When I play with the throttle it either is all the up or all the way down to both extremes, but when I stop it somewhere in the middle it seems to run better and be more responsive. I’m guessing that this motherfucking thing should be regulated in some way to fluctuate in response to air/fuel mixture. ANY HELP IS APPRITICATED for I need this vehicle to get me to school and work!! https://2img.net/h/i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s410/oldmanriver88/96d406a8.jpg https://2img.net/h/i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s410/oldmanriver88/96d406a8.jpg
