Lets play "Name That Sensor"

It is mounted on the engine block opposite the knock sensor. It looks identical to the knock sensor, except for a white single pin connector, as opposed the black connector on a knock sensor. When you remove this sensor, coolant starts running down your arms.

What is this sensor?

Are you referring to the other knock sensor??? There is one on the front and one on the rear.....almost exactly opposite each other. Both should have a BLUE wire, regardless of connector color.

I had a code for Knock sensor circuit failure. I went to buy two knock sensor, but the only one available had the round black connector like the front one. I ordered two knock sensors, and a pigtail so I can accomodate the different connector for the rear. But when I removed the rear sensor, coolant started pouring out, which did not happen when I changed the front sensor, so I stopped.

Can anyone veridy whether or not coolant is supposed to run out, when the rear knock sensor is removed?

Yes it's normal for coolant to come out of that passage (rear knock sensor). You can actually almost drain the block entirely by simply removing that sensor. So......don't be scared, just be prepared to make a mess!
