| Subject: Question about deleting CEL codes for inspection with a 1997 Riv.. Mon May 16, 2011 1:09 am | |
| I need to get a couple rear O2 (cat) codes off my car before it goes in. Few questions:
-I know there is is proper way to remove codes from the PCM without triggering any flags at the inspection station (no reporting or something). After playing with my 1997s tune it seemed different in this regard to the 2000 Regal. I didn't have this option in my DHP. Is there anything different with 1997 code compared to 1998+?
-On a somewhat separate note: The ABS and Trac Off lights were on. Tried to figure out what was causing it and couldn't (tried swapping hubs, etc). So I just took the bulbs out of the dash. When I go in for inspection, will I fail because of this? Or do they just look for dummy lights and since my bulbs are out, I'll be okay? I'm assuming the scanner they use will pick up on it but hoping it won't.
Thanks in advance guys.

| Didn`t see this until now. - Use the same method as on your 98+. As you mentionned, you have to disable reporting (#3, IIRC). If you are unsure I'll check once I get to my laptop and confirm. - Scanner can tell you which side is throwing the WSS fault. Can you confirm you swapped the FAULTY hub for a known good unit ? | |
