3 codes

on a stock 95 buick riviera i pulled codes p0122 p0325 p0342... the idle is around 700 to 800 rpms and drives good up until 2000 rpms it starts to boog out and misfire like crazy sometimes it even gives a backfire. all sensors have been change and still same problems.

Is it possible that something is wrong with the spark, like possibly a coil pack? If you are getting inadequate spark at times it could possibly lead to unburned fuel causing backfire. Or possibly a faulty computer. By no means would i start by replacing the parts that i mentioned, because i have no idea.

Here is some information a quick search got me for your codes

A code P0122 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

TPS not mounted securely
TPS circuit short to ground or another wire
Faulty TPS
Damaged computer (PCM)

A code P0325 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:

The knock sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced
There is a wiring short/fault in the knock sensor circuit

p0342Possible causes
- Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor
- Faulty starter motor
- Starting system circuit
- Dead (Weak) battery

Ya know..I had similar symptoms when my O2 sensor began to fail.I took it out and found that the ceramic in the sensor was all in pieces.
I also had probs when my in-tank fuel pump filters failed and let a bunch a junk in the pump leading to intermitent pump failure.If you have a 95,check the pump filters out.

Also what is the state of general maintenance on the car? is your MAF clean> the TB? is there a mouse nest in the air cleaner box?

thanks for all the input i found out that the wiring to cam sensor was broke behind the a/c bracket. little bit of re-wiring and all better ...

Nice fix. wonder why it was broken... ?

looked like it just was worn from age had a lot of nasty gunk everywhere. cleaned it up and seen that there was some wire discoloration followed them to find frayed wire. guess i got lucky with this one

Naah - that's just good troubleshooting -- with the collective troubleshooting experience of this group I bet we could write a great small, inexpensive book on troubleshooting car problems.
