I was in Steve's car a little over a week ago, and the security light was on while we were driving. _________________ 98 Riviera SC3800 All stock except gutted air box. 1970 Buick GS455 Stage1, TSP built 470BBB, 602HP/589TQ Best MPH, 116.06 MPH, Best ET, 11.54 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHCda-t_Jls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfT2tEO4XcU

| Radio is *supposed* to stay on after you turn off the ignition.
Please check your fuses and wiring and although you may not want to do it, you need to (temporarily) remove aftermarket accessories for troubleshooting this apparently electrical issue.
After pulling the aftermarket items (the hint is Larry busted on you about the XM radio those were not standard) might want to pull the battery and have it checked to see that it develops at least 450 CCAs - if less, replace. then might want to re-check the fuses, relays and thermal breakers. Any hot thermal breakers for instance for the seats? What you are looking for is any anomaly.

Have your battery checked with a "Load Tester" when you turn the key to the start position the starter is drawing a sufficient amount of amps that even though the battery is stating that has the right voltage it can't keep the loan of many amps like the starter solenoid. You can have it tested at you local parts store, for instance AutoZone. Also check for any corroded connections in the backseat and right next to the starter know as "chassis-to-engine" ground. | |
