I noticed that the cooling fans are not running on my "96 SC'd Riv. All related fuses check out as well as the relays...I think. I powered them up and could hear and feel them operate. So that leaves the temp sensor in the radiator itself. Am I missing anything here, and could it be something else? Does anyone have a part number for it? My searches are leading me nowhere. Also, is there any way to test the sensor? Thanks, Rick

Aaron, I just went and checked one more time, fans are working. Started car, fans run, AC on, fans running. Road test, up to temp(200 deg.) fans running, although rather slowly. So, don't know what to think. Rick

Our radiators are pretty good at keeping the engine cool without much help. As long as your coolant temp stays around 200, you don't really need the fans. The engine is happy between 180-210ºF. If you want it to run cooler while cruising, try a 180º thermostat. A $10 mod that takes some of the worry out of heavy throttle on hot days.
Thanks for the replys, Aaron. I think I'll stick with the current T-stat. The Riv has a" for sale" sign in her, so just want to make sure it's solid for the next owner.
