| I don't know where or what this connector goes to. It is on the passenger side right behind where the cv axle connects to the transmission. If anyone does please let me know. Thanks for looking. | |

| That's what I was thinking... you should have a dash CEL light on though. | |

| If it's got only one wire (one pin), it's the rear knock sensor plug. | |

| Looks like it has two wires, though.There's a sensor on the engine behind the power steering pump - I think it's oil pressure? _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Back of engine is shown below. Here you can see the connector and the plug for the oil pressure sensor - sure looks like yours from the pics you posted. Worth a quick look behind the engine from the bottom. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Thanks I'm kinda scared to plug it up. I don't know if its unpluged for a reason or not. The car is runing ok now. What does this senor do just monitor the oil pressure or does it control the pressure in some way? | |

| It doesn't control the oil pressure; it tells the PCM if oil pressure is lost, so the red OIL lamp will illuminate to assist you in avoiding engine damage. It's an important sensor to have. If working properly, the light should come on if the connector is disconnected when the engine is running. I don't know what happens when the connector is unplugged before you start the car. It may deactivate the sensor input.
IF you determine this is what's unplugged on your engine, you could try plugging it in, start the car, and see if anything is different. If not, leave it plugged in for 3 trips, then try unplugging while the engine is running - to see if the red light comes on. If this doesn't work, you may need to try a diagnostic procedure in order to solve the problem. I don't have my GM shop manual handy, but maybe someone else can advise. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| I finally found out what this connector goes to. It goes to a connector that sits on the rack and pinion on the passenger side. Does anybody know what this does or controls? | |

| Deekster thanks for your input. This connector is not connected on my car. I have no check engine lights, I have been driving the car this way for about 3 months. What is the benefit of pluging this back up? I don't know if something was done to the car or why it was unpluged but I don't want to break something that is already working now. | |

if you plug it in, it lets Magnasteer modify steering boost at higher speeds. Unplugged, the rack works as a normal GM power steering (many say it's way over-boosted and numb).
