| You can clean it up completely, and have a shop rechrome it, or order a new one from your dealer. i have one on the way right now, part # 16518518, GM list is $ 50.03, I'm getting it for $ 37.52.
Keep in mind, if you look into rechroming it, you will see obvious surface defects afterward, if you provide your part to the shop with surface scratches, etc. Unless you would be paying them to get all the old stuff off. I'd rather go with a new OEM part.

| A decent rechroming job will probably cost as much or more than just buying a new one from the dealer. Maaco, I doubt it. Look for plating companies in the yellow pages. Depending on how picky your are, there is supposed to be some prettty good new chrome paint on the market, you could always spray it yourself. | |

Rechroming will be far more than the price Dave is talking about, if you can find a shop that can do a decent job that is! Definitely NOT macco type work!

| It really just depends on the quality you're looking for, and what you want to pay. I can't vouch for the quality of any chrome spray paints. If you want to try to do it, check your local auto parts stores, hardware stores, etc, and follow the prep directions on the can. If it doesn't turn out how you'd like it to look, spend the money at the dealer, or try a salvage yard. But I don't think these pieces hold up very well long-term, so getting a new one is your best bet. | |

| Chrome plating plastic is very expensive and cannot be done by a chrome shop... I'd reccomend replacing it or simply painting it the body color or silver.... | |
