| Blurry pics time!! So, on my drivers side back of the fenderwell, I seem to be missing the inner-most bit of the trim. I know this clip is missing, I'll be replacing it soon. But this now-exposed little bit of metal is confusing me. I assumed it'd be a piece of the frame however it can physically move forward and back about a good centimeter, it won't come out, but it seems wrong to me somehow what's wrong here? Am I just missing cover-trim to hide this anchor-piece or is there something I'm overlooking. :::::BIGNOTE::::: I only was made aware of this when I recently occasionally heard a sort of pop noise come from that area as I was straightening out my wheels from turning right at low speed (5-10mph). And I mean occasionally. I assumed the trim was catching on the wheel because that one pin is missing...but the passenger side well doesn't have this exposed metal piece, it has a trim cover that wraps around this area as far as I can tell... | |

| To me it just looks like the hole where the plastic anchor pushes in. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| I was speaking more to this exposed piece of metal here... -------------- Compared to what it looks like on the other side of the car here.... ----------- It looks flush and less exposed, flat with the front edge of the splash guard. However, I got to looking and it seems that this metal piece itself clips onto the bottom splashguard and behind the fenderwell trim to give it a common anchoring point! See below the metal clip has a resistance push-clip design to slide over this little lip on the bottom of the splashguard to hold it in place That solves that. Whoever last removed it didn't put it back on correctly so I'll just have to take it out and do it myself oh boy haha | |

| It's worth noting that metal clip piece has a 9/32 bolt screw behind the fenderwell trim which secures it to the frame. Slide the metal piece onto the bottom splash guard and bolt up to the frame then tuck the trim back in and re-clip it in.
Also! Couldn't find the thread but I remember seeing someone left hanging re: the replacement clips from napa for the fenderwell trim. The ones I used are listed as Ford/Chrysler but are a 100% match for the oem clips. They're: 665-2097 from napa | |
