Hello everyone, I live in Georgia and I have owned my 97 riviera for 2 years now and love everything about it. I came across the Riv while I was searching for my first car and had decided that whatever car that was in good running condition and the right price, I was buying! I paid 1,800 for it (which I still happily brag about) and am glad that it was the Riviera that I came across first, not any other car. I am not a mechanic, but have done some little things on it (with some research and some muscle from bf when needed) on my own. Master cylinder, window motor, egr valve, radiator hose, and simpler stuff like replacing lights are some of the things I (me and bf) have fixed. There are other things I would like to do to it or have a "feeling" I need to get fixed( mama knows!) and have found it frustrating that there isn't that much info on the riv to help me bring it to its original state as much as possible. Also the parts in the stores aren't the exact size the original parts are which means they don't fit like they're suppose to. Aggravated/pissed off.

p.s. I love it when a bmw or vw owner assume my car is unable to go above 40. I enjoy passing them everytime.

Haaahahaha, well said! I stand by the fact that you cannot find a better, faster, and more comfortable car.

Welcome and congrats on the Riv as your first car!! You picked a great one, in my unbiased opinion. wink Yes its age will make it tough to find parts sometimes. Luckily there are plenty of work-arounds you can find here. Take care of your Riviera and it will take care of you. Regular oil changes and premium gasoline for the win. There are several owned here that have surpassed 250,000 miles (looks like you're in that club too). Just keep an eye out for rust underneath the car and you'll be fine!

smile Hi, just found this site a few minutes ago and I'm tickled to death. I have a 96 supercharged Riviera and I was in love with it from day one. Bought it 3 yrs. ago and it had 99,000 on it. Now has 122,000. Silver with gray interior, needs painted and I'm afraid I've neglected interior a bit but I want to fix er up.

Thanks stan, appreciate the welcome. I guess frustration from trying to learn and constantly getting dead ends or no hits. I can't believe you've been here all along! This is great and I have a lot of reading to do! Thanks again.
