IFinaly figured out a way how to keep lows on when switch on hig's. this saves my hid's cos they do not need to have warmup after switchign back to lows and get more light outbut when have them bouth on.
i made some pictures and a video clip tho. so i show how i did. just need some wire, conectors and a reley. 1.connect one wire whit the Positive (+) do not mix the wires up use a red color wire for that.
2.take off the plug on the high beam bulb, take the cover off the wires. cut off whit a sharp knife some of the plastic cover on the positive wire(POSITIVE is allways a color, negative is BLACK). on right sides high beam is the positive wire yellow. connect another wire whit it, after conecting seal the connection whit tape.
3.pull of the right and left sides low beam plugs from the bulbs. cut off some of the positive wires cover on bouth sides and connect one wire whit them.( this ONE WIRE has to be connected whit RIGH and LEFT bulbs POSITIVE wire)
4.Then take another wire, good if you use black or gray. this will be the GROUND(negative (-) ) wire. connect it somewhere where you get good ground.
5. after that you should have 4 wires. Positive wire from battery (+)(RED) Negative wire from ground(-)(BLACK) One wire from Highbeams positive wire. 2 wires from Lowbeams (right/left)
If you did not do this before then connect right and lefts lowbeams wires whit eachother under one connector or what ever they are called in english. but connectors on all the wires. then you need a reley.(a siple 2 way reley whats normaly used for installign extra high beams on cars or what so ever)
6.connect the wires whit the reley. on the reley what i used low beams are in centre, ground on left, highs on right and positive is up.
7.seal the connections whit some tape again and connect the wiresagainst the cars body so they cant move/shake. after that when you turn on lights there will be lows on, when pull the lever the highs come on and lows stay.
works for me now. sorry about my BAD writing in english lol. hope you all get the point what i meaned.

heya all today i spend some time again on car. got all the things changed now what i had buyed. right left inner and outer tierods.
was easy to change the outers. whit inners had problems, cos there is not much space for using any tools to open it. changing them made the carhandle sharo again.
then changed rear brake pads. that was very easy.
then pulley. was not a hard job tho. took just some minutes.
well anyways after that day had a pile of old parts lol.
there is still much what i want to do. there are some areas on the engine where the oil leaks out. the AC system dos not work cos its empty. need to go refill it, guess i need to get new brake rootors on front tho. feels like they are bended. and if i change them would like to get some sloted/cross trilled rootors and stainles steel covered tubes.
talked whit uno today alot tho about the car. i decided that i will let him paint the whole car. it as scratches everywhere. will not change the color just truy to find a same bearl green. think it look nice whit this color. some days ago found the sport muflers at a shop tho. i will buy them and start whit the exhaust building if i find someone who will sell me 3'' stainles steel pipes.
btw... dos rivs glowebox have a light inside it?? i see that there is a switch what should turn a light on when i open it?

The glove box light works only when the headlights or parking lights are on. To test it pull out the headlight know 1 or 2 stops, THEN open teh glovebox door. Light should be on. If not look to see if it is broken or missing.

THe bulb is on the understructure of the dash, so that it lights up the glove compartmetn when open.
When I got my riv, mine did not work either and I had to hunt around there the socket and reinstall it in the holder under the dash. You will have to do that too I suspect.
I do not know that any RIvieras came *without* the glove box light. But maybe, if there was some sort of "light package" option. I don't know. I do know it took me some time to find the socket and re-install it. You have to empty the blovebox, and look and feel around for where it goes and where the fixture went.
I hope someone can post a picture if only to show that you don't really need a picture to fix this one.

Is that wood grain factory, or stick-on pieces. You have a nice car by the way, I like that color, looks cool against the snow.

Nevermind my last post, I went through and found what you are talking about. My interior is red, just like the car that was modeling the kit you bought:
I think the kit looks alot better on your car than it does in the picture of the red interior.

thank you, its a dash kit what you can buy from some places. there are many colors and styles. the only peaces what rivs had from factory was the trimm araund radio and gear shifting lever.
in my tread i have even pictures of installing it.
and here is the place where i buyed mine: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BUICK-RIVIERA-96-97-98-DASH-TRIM-KIT-DASHBOARD-STYLING_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem250396172543QQitemZ250396172543QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Hmm, do you think the light burl wood:
would look too tacky or "seventies" on a red interior? I ask you because I like your taste in interiors.

I think this one would look good on whit taupe(bege) and maybe whit medium gray. you should stay whit red colors. it will not look good when you get a trim what is brighter. the sides would show out easely araudn the gauges, vents and so on. I think the best for red interjor will be Japanese cherry wood and African Zebra wood. they bouth are a bit red so it would look more like it as come from factory whit it.
Hehe and ty Turtleman. if i ever will get some free monney...then i have some crazy plans whit the riv lol. will see what the future brings us.

Yeah, either that or a piano black finish, which would be less expensive/somewhat easier to just paint on very carefully!

today desided to change the fuil filter. cos when i checked it...it seemed like it has been there since the car was buyed..that dam russian did not even change it ! i was sure it was very very old cos it even had rust on it!
was easy to change....just lifted up the car. unpluged the line what comes from fuiltank to the filter. leted the fuil floud out of the line to some pucket. then opened the filter from other side whit 20mm and 16mm tools. seemed this filter was so old tat instead of cleaning...(from tank came nice clean golden fuil in) it made it dirty(from other side cone black fuol out). cone out to test it later. and oh god..it feeled way diferent. run so smooth and did not vibrate on hills. guess on hills the charger made boost but not enaf fuil cone into the engine. the mixture was poor.
Spoiler:
thats the nice ''CLEAN'' fuil what came out of the filter.
Spoiler:
i don't want to know how dirty the injectors can be...
Spoiler:
my dog truyed to eat the new fuil filter on way to unos place..
then one day was boored and i started to make somekind heatsheld for the cone filter. used one aluminium tape, one aluminium plate and some erm...dont know how to call it but it was a 0,5cm thick materjal what was heatresisting. glued/taped it on the aluminium plate. later buted one ruber seal on top.
not sure how much it will keep the heat away from cone. but i hope it dos atleast something.
then truyed the 'chrom' door handle look. whit the aluminium tape. well i think they where ugly and removed it later.
Spoiler:
thats all for now. if i would ever have TO much free monney lol. then i would have big plans whit it.
