yes and no...on my setup, with a few extra modifications, I can easily run a gen V SC and a t-70-88mm turbo. upwards to 30 psi on a stock setup....yeah sure....you'll blow the fuck out of ur motor, but you can do it. me and Eric are working on pioneering these cars into actually being fast....let alone which one of ours is actually faster??? Im sure hes gradually catching up to me on $$$$ spent since ur new.....i d suggest observing other people push the limits before you decide to go completely crazy and start buying all kinds of parts

| I've definitely wanted to do that. When I can support/afford a turbo (it's gonna be a while) I plan to twin charge. I'm kind of modding according to this plan. (ie the reason i'm not getting headers, genV, etc.) | |

Absolutely. ZZP did this to break the FWD 3.8L V6 1/4 mile record, and VW has already used a production twin-charged I-4 in some of its smaller cars.
The benefits of twin-charging is you get the low-end torque from a blower, plus the high-RPM boost from the turbo. Perhaps the best part is the fuel efficiency. This arrangement gets superior fuel economy compared to a N/A engine of similar power output, because the engine displacement can be very small. VW's example is only 1.4L, but makes up to 200hp! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| Having only theory, I think it can be done best if a secondary boost control (line running from the compressor side of the turbo through a basic boost controller T'd to the pressure side of the stock BBV) to make the boost bypass valve open once the turbo reaches a specified amount of boost (probably around 10 psi) so that the boost will follow through the bypassed blower. I speculate that might work pretty well. At that point the blower wont be drawing much more than the alternator and making all kinds of heat and parasitic loss and the turbo can do it's thing. It should just take some careful tuning, and adjustment to work nicely. Of course the prerequisite engine modifications should be considered with regards to the most extreme of the two. I would say a fully built bottom end, in/out ported s/c housing for best turbo results, perhaps a custom grind cam, would be a must if any kind of really big power advantage is expected. | |

| A local guy is twin-charging his GP. Yes, a turbo ahead of the SC. Sounds like it will be running at the track this Saturday, too bad I can't go this time. | |

| Theres a few people with setups like that. In fact zzperforamance sells kits for the explicit purpose of twin charging - running the blower with a turbo

| Yeah the idea is to have the supercharger boost at first then once the turbo spools up, it 'takes over' the job of boosting. It's a neat looking idea. If I had a setup like that, you'd be I'd have custom emblems made that said 'twincharged'. Mwahaha. | |

Where? http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=411&catid=109 Take a look at the first drop-down option "Model" There's a little info down at the FAQ on the twin charge option but it's pretty vague
