Car will start fine then immediately stall out as if I turned the key off. Code is for anti-theft. Got a new key, that didn't change it.
One time it was acting up and I tilted the steering wheel up, and the problem went away for several months.
A tech I know seems to think there is a broken wire for the anti-theft (key chip) reader.
I'm going to start taking the steering column shroud off Monday and look for this wire.
In the mean time: any tips on getting the steering column shroud off? It doesn't seem too easy. Also, is there a way I can just bypass the anti-theft key-chip reader? On most Fords there's a wire you can ground at the pcm to bypass, but you'll still get the theft warning on the dash.
Thanks in advance

(Sorry I haven't been around much, go into motorcycles and that takes up most of my time. The Riv is my bad-weather driver now.)
