| Hey guys. Ok, so my Riv has 2 issues. There were both there to be begin with. The sunroof seems to get stuck in the process of lowering into the car, and rising into it's sealed position. I took the glass out and tried to adjust it so it doesn't get stuck. What i found was that the Right side is making popping noise when it comes across force. Like that side is weak. It can open and retract all the way by itself, just that most times, i have to push it up to get it to seal. My question, is there a motor for both sides or is it 2 motors, one for each track. 2- How can i remove the roof liner?
Now, here come another. The driver's side does not lock or unlock electrically. It locks manually, and with the key. Power locks work, i can use to remote to activate the alarm and the other lock. I took the panel off and verified that i am getting power when i use power locks. There a 3 plugs back there. The one right above a white plastic box gets a signal when i use my keyless remote. So i am thinking that the solenoid might be bad. Before i buy a new solenoid, maybe someone can provide a wire schematic, or maybe a breakdown of the lock mechanism. Maybe ther is another wire signal that i didn't look at. And where might be a good place to look for one? | |

| From what I have looked into with the sunroof, there is one motor for all operations. It has to be synchronized for everything to work properly. On the door locks, if the plastic piece that goes from the lock mechanism to the key cylinder is broken, even if it gets a signal it will not lock the door? I have a '95 chassis service manual, but will not be able to look into it until the end of the week, if you don't find anything out before then I'll see what I can find for you. | |

| ok, i am getting the feeling that the motor for the sunroof is fine, but the problem is in the track. Like i said, it's like it's a popping chain oin the right side. Th door, i'm looking at GM parts direct, but i come across cylinder and actuators. When i powered the door unlock, i get nothing, telling me the actuator is not reporting the signal. Not even a slight noise. That is the actuator, right? the cylinder is where the key goes, i hope i'm right. I'd apreciuate the help with the service manual. I'm in no rush. The locks work fine, just have to insert the keys. No biggie, and the roof, it looks better with it closed. lol | |

| Try some silicone spray to lube up the tracks? I'd do that before replacing anything. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| no, i should've made myself more clear. I used it on other things and it worked great there. The sunroof, no. It seems like the right side track "skips" imagine what a chain sounds when a sprocket is seaized and the chain just jumps on it. That's the sound it gets when it's trying to go over the roof frame. Once it's up or all the way down, it works fine. | |

| I have basically the same problem with my riv. I was thinking that there were two motors too, because mine opens just fine, but closing it is a PITA. When it's all the way back you have to guide it forward as it skips continuously. Then you have to push up on it to get it to go up, then it takes a bit of going up and down to get it to seal. I was kinda wondering what all was involved in fixing it also. | |

| I also have the same problem. I went to a local junkyard and they said that they would give me the motor for like $15, so that compared to $750 for a new one is kinda a good deal. why not try replacing the motor/actuator. and they also quoted me about $40 for the whole setup, track, glass, actuator, the works | |
