Painting Wheels Empty
PostSubject: Painting Wheels   Painting Wheels EmptyMon Jun 25, 2007 7:38 pm

Ok...so i was thinkin...i love thinking..not actually doin...but just thinkin..lol...
well i REALLY like the stock 12 spokes that my car has and most of the other ones..such as andys in ur top right corner...but well..theyre still just alluminum alloy..they also just iono..are missing something? well what i was wondering..is if u could paint them......................like i think it would be sweet..for example well use andys green one...hes paint his green...look sweet!
or me...paint them black...and MAYBE make the center caps the color of my car..
or Mr. Riv...make his white...but that might be a huge PITA to keep clean..

So what kinda idea is that? stupid? or is it sumthin that could work?
leace feedback u freakin geniuses!

The black could work. I'm not feeling the other color options

You can have them chromed for $$. Probably cheaper than buying new rims.

i'll stick with chrome wink
black rims may work on some colors but IMO the rims painted the same color as the car screams VW.
you could always have yours plated in chrome happy
if you do deside to paint them make sure you research some of the paint options b/c i've seen some people who literaly spray paint the wheels and it looks bad. it peels off and has an uneven mat finish no

I'm glad you like my plain 'ol wheels lol

I think white ones would be extreme.

From what I can imagine, the two tone might look similar to Dodge Stealth RT's styled wheels. But with black caps

The finish on the stock wheels is base coat clear coat paint so you could do that in just about any color you would like to!
I would imagine the twelve spoke chrome ones are around $1000-$1200 for a set by now?

How would chrome plating the stock rims work? Would it turn out good?

Has anyone done it yet? Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me..

I dunno, you need to find a photo shop expert and play around with it. If you have chrome, I'd leave them chrome though.
