| As the title says, actually thinking about painting all the chrome trim black. Im not a huge fan of chrome and and was thinking this would look pretty "tough" when paired with the rims I had in mind: The car is green. tell me what you think, | |

| I think it would look awesome on a green car! When i bought my first Riv, the grill was blacked out and it looked terrible (the car was black. No contrast. Ugly). It would look sweet on any other color Riv though. Especially if you tinted the turn signals! | |

I thought about that but figured it might look alittle weird with the R kinda floating in the center

| I'm actually headed outside to pull off everything to repaint them. I'm not doing the entire grill in black, probably just the logo and the fins to match. | |

It actually came off pretty easy with just my fingernails, it was still soft and pliable

| Alright. Mine just finished drying. I went for the stock gold because I'm just not to sure about black. How did you put them back on? Double sided tape? | |

| Im researching that right now. Apparently the 3m emblem adhesive (liquid) has been known to melt paint so that out of the question, and from what im seeing, double sided tape is the preferred method | |

| I used the 3M trim adhesive to reattach the supercharged emblem on my car and it worked fine. One thing I did was allow the adhesive to get tacky prior to placing on the car, that way I didn't get any runs. Also, tape off the area where you want to put it so you know it will be level and exactly where you want it.

| We used black silicon adhesive. It seems to be working pretty well (might even be what they used from the factory?). I have them covered with painters tape to keep them held down until it dries. | |

From what I've read the factory uses a die-cut piece of double-sided tape. However I like the silicone idea as it is easy to apply and not as invasive as hardcore adhesive. I would imagine trying to cut piece of double-sided tape to fit the narrow "Riviera" emblem will be a PITA. I might still try the 3m adhesive, perhaps letting it semi-dry to get tacky like Rick mentioned will help it from damaging the paint

| What about the regular 3M tape ,I think it's pretty strong ,plus GM used similar tape for the OnStar antennas and I still see them glued no problem. | |

The 3M double sided tape that is grey with the red covering works really well I hear. I have used it for other applications and it's very strong and not to bulky like the standard foam tape
