Well I resorted to the black RTV simply because the autopart store did not have either the adhesive, or the double-sided tape. we'll see how it holds up when dried. I know if it does not hold well, the RTV is simple to remove from both surfaces

Really? I considered doing it with mine, so im glad you said something! Do the rims not take the paint well, or do they just look bad in black?

They  looked bad in black. Mind you my car is White so the contrast was drastic but I think the problem was how little the spaces between the spokes are. I think a cheap used aftermarket rim would be a better way to go if you want black rims without spending too much!

Heres a picture of Rick's (DEMonte1997) old blacked out Riv when he took his aftermarkets off for the winter. Looks better on a dark color I suppose but I dont think it looks better than Silver. These look flat black too. In a gloss black, I didnt like it either.

If you try a chrome paint and gloss black combo somehow it might look better, but some people like the simply blacked out look.

Agree they dont look very good like that... In a gloss, and NOT on a black or white car, they might look ok... Thanks for that picture. Definitely inspired me to not paint my rims black!

Duplicolor makes it.  Interesting stuff but, to me, it seems like a gimmick.  After reading up I found that it really is only a tint and clear that goes over chrome.  You might be able to accomplish a similar effect with nightshade.  Or if you were really good with body work, putting a tiny bit of black in with some clear and shoot with gun.

Good work on those tails.  Brings back memories.  I know a lot of people don't agree but I like the chrome delete theme.

Missed this pic. The gloss black looks killer on green. One of my Regal buds did this on his. Went gloss black on the whole bottom part of the car with black 5-spoke wheels. Looked mean as hell.

Thats funny because I always seen it on the other side on other Rivieras as well and assumed it was everyone else that moved theirs. I never moved the emblem and the car has been in the family for a long time.

I was always of the impression that Rivs had the emblem on the passenger side and Buick changed things up and put the Regal's on the driver's side. Eh, who knows.

I think you're right Rick. I've always seen Riv on the right, Regal on the left. My dad has that black '04 Regal and it's funny parking my Riv next to it...the rear ends mirror each other, especially since I added my GS emblem.

Anyway, the grille and the tail light trim look pretty good!! I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it on a green car but it's really working. Keep it!
