| Don't sand the lobes. They're coated with special stuff (epoxy or Teflon, depending) . Even if it's worn away, don't sand or paint the lobes. Best to either leave them be or replace them. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| dont touch the blades or anything they come into contact with. If you pull it completely apart, efforts to smooth the roughness around the inlet area may be good. Some porting would be cool to since you got that northstar TB but be careful if you're gonna do anythign like that | |

| The name for them is the rotors. Removing coating would make them not seal as well. During an experiment in stupidity when I first learned about SC's I cleaned the rotors with TB cleaner that removed the coating.
It reduced boost about 2-3lbs. No other changes were made. | |

| This is why you shouldn't use alcohol or water injection upstream of the TB. The tiny droplets act like micro hail stones when they hit the spinning lobes (I call them lobes). After a while, the all of the coating becomes stripped off. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| For the housing you can smooth out/port the intlet (part right after the throttlebody) and smooth out the outlet (part that the air come out from to go into the LIM). You should also smooth and polish the LIM. Remove all the roughness and leave it smooth and shiny. Also leave the compression chanmber alone (the part where the rotors are) that past is already smooth from factory and if you mess with the compression chamber all you will do is lose compression. | |
