| Hello to everyone on the forum, a month ago I picked up a 96 SC Riviera with 260 000 km's on the clock. So far so good with a couple of issues. Last week grooved idler pulley broke and made a mess of the belts so I replaced both belts and a couple of pulleys. I also have a few issues with which some members might be able to advise me on.
Namely the power antenna is not working, I cannot hear the motor at all, the "traction control off" light turns on when the car goes to 2nd gear and stays on, the fuel tank lid has a little spring that broke off so sometimes the lid will not pop out that easily. Also glove compartment light is not working and i cannot find the location of the bulb, and also the sunroof will not tilt or close without me helping it up by hand. it also makes a grinding noise when it tilts. it slides open no problem though. and last and least important back seat interior lights ate not working and I don't know how to open the cover to replace the bulbs.
Thanks in advance for all the advices you guys may have, I went through some write ups but couldn't find anything specific about the issues I have.

| Welcome to the site The Power Antenna is probably just not working anymore, and needs to be replaced. The TRAC OFF illuminating once you get into 2nd gear could be something wrong with the Torque Input Signal from the EBTCM. It quite common, but isn't necessarily going to hurt anything. You won't know until you have the vehicle scanned for codes. Your best bet is to go to Autozone or something and have them scan the car for you. Bring your printout home and post your findings for us to see. The cables in the MoonRoof might have flat spots worn into them from the gears, the motor itself may have come loose, or.......you have to pull it apart to find out. Not quite sure where the Glove Box bulb is. I've never had to replace any bulbs in the rear of the Interior. I can tell you though, that in order to change the bulbs in the doors, you need to remove the door panels. The same might be true for the rear lights. Or, you may be able to get a SMALL flat blade or a pick and pop the lenses out from the edges. I'm guessing at that. Maybe someone else has replaced some before.... | |

| Hello Marko, As far the door lights (curved ones in back of door) I replaced one of mine recently. The lens housing does pop up, just gently pry along the edges with a small screwdriver. Plenty of wire, so you can pull it out and change the bulb. | |

| thank you for taking the time to reply guys! yes i have lot of issues with the indicators today the ABS light came on and it stays on as well. it all starts after the car is in 2nd gear, diagnostics showed some problems with front right hand side wheel sensor or something like that. so now abs and traction contril lights are on non stop | |

Hmmm. It's possible the Wheel Speed Sensor is dropping off at a certain speed making it not "gear" related, but more mph related. If it is a Wheel Speed Sensor, you just have to have the WSS harness inspected and/or the Hub/Bearing Assembly replaced. Its a common repair on pretty much all cars. A bad WSS will absolutely turn on the ABS and Traction lights. Without wheel speed, the EBTCM can't properly operate, therefore disabling Traction Control and Anti-Lock braking. The car will still function, you just won't have those functions.

| thank you Abbadon, see the mechanic I went to just keeps saying its an old car nothing works properly, wasn't really interested in helping out but didn't mind charging 100$ for diagnostics. and if you look at it mph related then yes after you pass 50km/h lights turn on. if you just turn on the car and are idling for whatever time the lindicators will not turn on | |

| No problem. I'm interested in the exact trouble codes that you're getting if possible. I just need the 5 digit code. It should be a Cxxxx. If you can get it and post it, we'll help you the best we can. | |
