hi guys... my 98's starter went out yesterday after warning me for a few months ( I would turn the key and there would sometimes be a 1 - 3 second delay before the starter would crank).
i put a new starter in and now it wont crank. Im wondering if there is a relay or a fuse in the starter circuit.
-Im not getting any weirdness on the VATS
-I can crank the car by shorting out the solenoid and the car runs fine
-there is no power coming to the solenoid
-Ive checked all of the fuses and none are blown.
before i replaced the starter, I was furiously trying to start the car by turning the key on and off and holding it on.... Im thinking this damaged something like the Ignition block switch (under the dash) or the neutral safety switch, or blew a fuse somewhere.
any ideas? Im wondering if there is a bad relay somewhere....
thanks a bunch
Jeff
