| I suppose there's no way these would work on our cars -

As our cars slip further into obscurity I'm becoming obsessed with having some call out on it that is unabashedly cool. I'd really like to have Vette calipers with Vette rims. It doesn't have to be the latest stuff, C4-5 is o.k. I thought the F body brakes we normally use were essentially the same as the Vette's calipers, but maybe that is the caliper for the C4? | |

| The F-body calipers are different than Vette C5 - they won't fit the same pad anyway. The brakes on my GTO however do fit C5 pads, and the previous owner had "ungraded" to them. I took them off and upgraded again after I experienced significant fade. GTO is heavier than C5, so the OE ceramic pads were not adequate.
Whether you go with Vette or F-body calipers, the required modifications will be similar. The steel bracket that holds the caliper needs to be drilled & tapped to fit the larger mounting bolts. The big question that needs answered: are Vette caliper mounting bolts on center with the mounting holes on the Riv's bracket?
If you want Vette rims, I think you'll need to upgrade the hubs, or use an adapter as the the lug pattern is different (5x120 I think?). Adapters can effect the offset so you'd want to consider this.

| Turtleman has Vette rims on one of his Rivs, using spacers. He's not totally happy with the fit though. | |

| The rear wheels would be tricky. Wonder if anyone has tried mounting 4 front wheels from a Vette? _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| IIRC Turtleman has 4 fronts, and the fronts still rub a little in the rear.
