| Erik mentioned yesterday that the rears on the F Body LS1 were 12", so do you think I should negotiate with this guy on the complete rear set-up as mentioned above for possible mod's ? Erik, are you out there. I need your infinite wisdom and experience on how spend some more money. | |

| If you are willing to pay for them. I would be interested in finding out if they fit. Any way to find out if they can bolt on to ours before you invest?
Find out how much. If the price is low enough, I might pitch in some to help you out. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| No, that's my only hesitation right now is fitment. I don't know if they will bolt up, but i can have brackets or adapters machined by quality shop of proper materials if i have to. Good friends own a very large facility with 6 CNC's, milling machines, lathes, 2 flow bench's 2 MC Dyno's, etc. If i make accurate templates i can have this done during the winter when motorcycle business is slow. Or maybe I should spend money on Mod's I know will work. What do you think?

| Cool. If you can do it, I will be very interested in seeing how you went about it. If not too complex, I might try it.
If you need any CAD work done to help with the CNC operation, I can create solid IGES models from your dimensions. Might help speed things up on the CAM end. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| That would be very helpful. I'm going to sleep on this one tonight. The parts aren't going anywhere, he didn't even have them listed for sale. I asked and he replied. | |

| We may even be able to recreate the stock rear mounting parts in 3D space to see exactly what needs to be done. If you buy these parts, I will use my car to get the stock dimensions and build a CAD model of the stock mounting parts, hub, etc. Should help us both stay out of the cold, should you decide to do this... _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Nick, Thanks alot for the pics. As codith said, i really like the parking break set-up, but more importantly is the thick vented rotor. I can't wait to start welding and grinding. | |

| I got another email from the guy with the rear end. He describes all parts for me and mentions that "Backing plates don't have holes for traction control" Now i"m not familiar with the exact set-up on 98-02 LT 1 Camaro's. But wouldn't he be talking about a speed sensor or is there another sensor on those for traction control. If he talking about a speed sensor then that would mean the car didn't have ABS. That doesn't sound right to me even if it's a 1998 ??? Anyone have a clue before I make a fool out of myself by asking dumb ass questions that i think i should know the answer to. | |

| just speculating - rears have 1-piece hub/sensor (kinda like fronts) so the sensor wire does not haave to go thru backing plate it comes out the hub?!?

| I think I'm going to have to try and get a phone number from him so we can talk directly about all this. Then I'll decide what to do. He's the only one I have found and price is right compared to whole rear end if I can get him to throw in the rotors too for mock-up and testing.
Update: Continued searching ebay and found a complete rear end for sale from a 98-02 Camaro LS1 With TC for $250 + shipping. Selling as upgrade due to gear ratio and larger brakes than other F Body's, per ad. Wondering if non- TC has same brake size or not. Will continue this until I drop or am divorced I can check that at local auto parts store based on P/N's. To be continued....

Wondering if non- TC has same brake size or not.. same brakes regardless.... also, something else to look at... the 98+ V6's had the same brakes aswell(front and rear).... but different differential(which doesnt matter in this case) go find a 98+ v6 rear out of a junkyard! usually cheaper....

there should be one sensor hidden on top of the pumpking. there should be one sensor on each brake and there are ABS reluctor rings on the inside of the rear end on the axles.... hope that helps. basically, if you get them to bolt up, and run the brake lines, then thats all you really need.
