The door poppers (with emergency release) was about $300. Fairly easy to install and they work great. A friend and I painted the car ourselves in another friends paint booth so I didn't pay for labor. Paint supplies, fillers, primers, paint, clear, compounds (three types of cut), polishes, paper, tape, and a handfull of other things came out to about $2500. I also have some money invested in all new clips, pins, removing the quarters, tint (windows and tail/corners) various trim pieces ect. All in all I think just about $3500 in the paint job. If I would have had someone else paint the car (with shaving the car) I would have been looking at 3 times that amount.

Eric, Can you tell me where I would buy the material for tinting the taillight lenses. Can you share your source or is it Top Secret ? J/K Rick

Electric Life is where I got my door kit but there are several vendors available. Autolock is another.
I first used www.decalfx.com tint but thought it was a little too thin. The place I got my tint done had something similar but much thicker so I went with that instead. I can not remember what the brand name is but you could probably ask a local tint company. The film is also used on front bumpers and lower doors for rock guard protection. They have clear, smoke, charcoal (which I used), black, blue, and yellow.

I finally got to race today... please note- 20" tires do not do well at the drag strip. The best time for the Riv was 13.1 @105mph (time slip attached right lane) and Paul from PRJPerformance was driving. My best was 13.2 @ 104mph. There were quite a few slack jaws after some of my good runs. If you listen close enough to the vid you will hear a "WTF" from someone in the grandstand. It was a great day and one of the most fun times I have ever had. Lots of people coming up to congratulate me and comment on the Riv. Next time I am bringing a smaller set of rims and wheels as well as making sure my tank in nearly empty (I had over 3/4 tank)

Yes, 20"ers do not make for good 60' times. That said, 2.22 is not bad, and more practice will help. What PSI did you leave in them? Congrats on some great times!

His 60' time was 2.069
With a quarter tank of race gas and some more timing you have twelves easily! Take of those 20s and add some slicks and you're really in business! great times!

The tires were set at 48lbs!! Didn't even think about lowering the pressure but I got to the track late so I didn't have too much time.

whoops! My bad. Well 2.06 is nothing to scoff at!! My best 60' is a 2.09! I doubt you'll get that much better time switching away from the 20s, maybe a tenth or two... Just go by MPH!

A buddy was running 13.2 with 16" rims and street tires on a GTP with the same mods (except for OD balancer pulley, rockers, and electric wp). He went with slicks and off a good launch tagged 12.46. Might have to invest in some slicks for next season. I think my Riv would have gotten 12.9's if Paul had another run... he is a much better driver than me (for now). This was my first time. I'd like to see mid to low 12's with slicks and think it's a fairly obtainable goal with practice, tuning, and slicks.

ewolfe0050,
I really like what you've done. Those rims look spectacular. The Riv I envision for myself is very much like what you've put together: black and chrome with murdered rims. The rims, well, those are just great- they are wonderfully understated and dramatic! I love it!
