| I just run tap water when I need to top it up. You can just flush the old orange (dexcool) stuff out and replace it with regular green antifreeze in the proportion you prefer. Just make sure to change it every 2 years. | |

| Just use the color that's supposed to be in there. If it's the old green stuff (i would expect to see this in a 95 if anything) use whatever brand the store has. As long as you mix it right or buy the premixed, it doesn't matter.
More likely, it's the pink/orange dexcool fluid though so I would just get the Prestone Dexcool that every place i've seen has.
If you have a 95 (green coolant?) or you suspect that maybe someone put the wrong fluid in at some point, get it flushed. If you can't flush it soon, Use the "mixes with all" fluid that Peak and Prestone makes. The properties of these fluids is very similar to that of dexcool but can be safely used on systems that have the old green glyco fluid in them still. bottom line is get it flushed if there are any areas of question.
Also, the Redline water wetter does work well for what it is. If you're doing a flush or changing your coolant, throwing a bottle of that into the mix won't hurt our system.

| GM changed a lot of things to make the Dex work properly. Used in the wrong system it can be corrosive. Most of these changes were invisible to us since it was implemented pretty much with the new S2 motors.
I agree with returning it and getting the green or anycolor versions.
6 gallons seems like a lot to me. Concentrated my car takes about 1-2 gallons at most. In the 50/50 mix say 4 gallons. While your cars are bigger and might use a bit more....6 seems like a lot.

| Most of the new Dex-Cool compatible coolants are green, not red. Same stuff, just a different dye added. So it may well have been the correct coolant, since you can't go by the color anymore. | |

| Most of the Turbo Buick owners in AZ use this product. It helps to clean and protect your cooling system

| On my 98 with 78000 miles my mechanic is flushing out the coolant and replacing it with the green stuff. He says after a complete flush it is better then the original, hope he is right as I heard horror stories from others about a possible mix. | |
