The above link is for ZZP's T.B. kit that I may be interested in. I emailed them a few questions about it already but does anyone know what the "TAC harness" they describe is. There's a link for it but it doesn't work... hisss

| Probably not necessary to add a N* TB until you are flowing some serious air, imo. I still haven't even come close to maxing out my stock MAF. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| , even some of the heavy 3800 modders still use L67 TB's and MAF's. besides, wouldnt you need to retune it for the different MAF senor and different A/F in relation to TPS? seems like more work than meet the eye. if i had to guess, i would say the TAC harness is the cruse control adapter they put on it for the L67 CC. | well i'm not exactly about to get it right now or anything. I just like to understand what's out there. If I port my inlet (and outlet obviously) or upgrade to a larger housing i would get it for sure.
Considering the OEM part costs well over 200 bones, (I'm being told $300+ in my area due to a part change and I have to wait who knows how long to get it) the GM 85mm TB that ZZP has for $125 is an attractive option in my eyes. It's cheaper and technically, better. I like the fact that it has an integrated IAT. That's pretty cool

| sorry Matthew - yes, it needs to be tuned. They provide all the info needed for proper calibration. I intend to get an HP tuner so that's not an issue | |

The TAC is a device that ZZP offers in order to rectify the TPS signal for larger throttle bodies, turbos and the like to make sure the PCM fuel's and adjusts for the altered flow to T.P. ratio since low throttle flow goes up drastically in larger TBs

I don't. A popular mod for engines with IAT in the TB is to relocate the sensor to be near the filter. They sell kits for this purpose. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

It's going to end up in the same exact location my IAT sensor is now so I don't see why it would make a difference. The closer it is to the TB, the closer the reading point is to the actual air going in. Obviously don't want it in the TB where it would induct heat though.

| I don't think the air soaks much heat from the intake because it's traveling so fast. If it did, the TB and tube would be cooler than they are, imo. But the IAT sensor does soak heat the closer it is to the TB, which is why I think it's dumb to have it inside the TB. On the GTO forums, some just snake the sensor into the air box next to the outside of the filter. It just lays in there not mounted; IAT values change noticeably faster according to those who've done it this way.
My theory is, if the air filter is too close to the engine, and gets hot, it will warm up the intake air because there's surface contact as the air passes through. But if you can keep the filter cool, the air should stay cool until it reaches the blower. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^
