| It IS all in the tune, but Turbos are somewhat inconsistent and therefore very hard to max tune.
I think a Gen V with a good cam, headers and proper supporting mods will give you all the power you want without the added reliability questions from IC. (think pump problems)
Unless you are going really really nuts, then go IC and whatever else you want.

Yeah it is all the tune. My point was that this guy was at the track with a team of 3 other guys trying to tune the thing out. It was a hot and humid day, so that was a factor, but imagine having to dial in 1-1.5 seconds of improvement. I

| i was also wondering, i love to shift my car using 1,2,3 is that bad for the tranny? I shift at normal rpm's like 2000 and 2500 for normal driving, but then have fun with it about once every 2, or 3 days. | |

| Wow, to be totally honest you have that much to spend and you're not tempted to buy something else? I know it's just me, but given that sort of cash I'd be looking at me a Trans Am WS6 or something. But hey, I'm a sucker for that badass V8 - what can I say... | |

| well i like the big v8's and personally been there done that. so i want to stick with my forced induction riv. i love the body style. power needs a little bit of updating but not much. and I think this is my favorite car yet (besides my supra i used to have but i don't think anything will ever top that) | |

| pretty sure im gonna go with the z3 kit from zzp. with the boost controller and m90 block off ic ill be pushin 400 hp. my only worry is my tranny. how much can a stock tranny support? my fear is that i would kill the stocker with the turbo kit | |

All depends on driving style and luck. AA is making 300hp and his lasted 150k miles. Others have been stock and had it fail much sooner. But as long as you're not on high boost constantly and doing burnouts and running slicks it "should" hold up for a while. Really all boils down to luck.

they are "rated" to about 7 lb ft, or so it seems. There is no known fail point, some have the stock tranny last a while, but inevitably if you are really building a 400 hp motor you will need the $3000 race rebuilt version. Might as well do that first...
