OEM wires lasted over 100k miles on my car, and that was with mods and through several plug changes. Unless you want something colorful or exotic-looking, I recommend a new set of the stockers (Delphi/AC) for $59.99. Our stock wires are different than most - they're made to handle the higher secondary voltage produced under boost.

they claim to be an "easy, proven, dyno-tested way to gain more power"

I saw someone use a set of these on one of the horsepower tv shows, they said they worked really great

I'd get them from Summit then, probably less $$. You will likely not gain any power by switching. Because they're made for the SC 3800, our wires are a lot better than your average OEM set. They probably won't be any worse than stock, though.

Believe it or not, if you know which wire is bad, you can order them individually from RockAuto.com:

almost all of the accel wires i've found have said assembled: no

does that mean that you have to trim them and attach the boots? the taylor wires won't ship until the 4th of january from summit.. and the ones on jeg don't have an accurate description, and the picture shows them as 90 deg. boots, but i'm sure that's just a stock photo that doesn't represent the item.. and I found the taylors on 5 other sites all with the same picture.. so i'm not sure

don't believe any of the wire marketing crap. From an EE viewpoint, the only ones that do as advertised are Magnecores. They suppress EMI and RFI interference. That's it (they are fairly heat resistant too)! No magic increase in hp.
0% of the wires that claim an increase in HP yield an increase in HP.

that's not to say that msd or accel or NGK wires are garbage (hey they're basically all made by the same manufacturer anyway), they just aren't worth extra money. I used MSD's in my roadmaster because I got them for 60$ whereas the Delcos were 160$ !

I think they are custom trim to fit, and they come in at least two different boot angles. Hard to tell what you are getting unless you ask. One of the sellers shows yellow wires, and describes them as "black".

You could always use stock wires and cover them with a colored dressing or loom.

I always had problems when I had "cut to fit" plug wires. I think Aaron has a good idea to cover the OEMs.

Skip the accel coils! I used em and they suck. If anything, the MSD ones might be better.

I got the taylor/msd wires (PRJ wires?) that 3800 and zzp sells and they are awesome. They are very durable and will stay in shape when pulling them often to change plugs and whatnot. I'd say those are by far the best "performance" wire set. Like Aaron said, you can't go wrong with OEMs either.

As far as those wires with built in capacitors, it's not going to do much good. The coils render all of the capacitance you need. It's a clever sounding idea but I really don't think that there is any gain.

I replaced wires some time ago, with 8mm Magnecor "Electrosports 80" wires.

http://www.magnecor.com/

The only problem I've had is that one of the dealer techs wrote on a service invoice that the new wires did not have the OEM level of resistance and so should be replaced. Most techs understand how to measure resistance with an ohmmeter, but not how to measure it in actual ignition conditions or what tools to use.

Anymore, OE wires are usually pretty good.

Hope there's no trouble with using that vendor. I just found the wires there doing a search. Personally, I've never ordered from them, and had no idea of their bad reputation!

Short version:

Ordered Riv struts from autopartswarehouse, said they had stock, then story changed, no stock. Then later they had no idea when they might have any. All while they've already billed my CC. I asked to cancel the order, they agreed. 2 Weeks go by, no refund yet to my CC. Placed call after call after call to them about my refund. Finally had to file a dispute with my CC company. In the end, it took about 3 months to get my CC charges reversed. The vendor finally issued the credit, probably once they realized I wasn't going away and they received the dispute notice from my CC. Sorry, I guess that was the long version. Short version: Don't buy from autopartswarehouse.

I reordered from Summit, had struts in a week, and mounts a week later. I posted the really long version on RegalGS.org and have referenced it here before.
