yes and no. the BCM (body control computer) flashes the lights and beeps the horn under certain conditions.

To try it, first push the panic button (red) on you remote key fob. Lighs should flash and horn should blow. Push it again to turn the alarm off.

Then roll down a window, turn the car off, remove key, get out if you want, and lock it with the key fob. Then open a door manually (reach in and unlock manually then pull the handle - DO NOT use a key or the remote fob for the unlock). Lights should flash and horn should beep. Use the panic button (agian) to turn it off.

If you don't get the lights and horn thing you may need to replace the BCM, get one used from Ed Morad - do a Search on this forum to find his address and stuff.

Corey: There is no way I can tell you if your car came without a key fob remote, or if the PO just didn't provide it. twisted

What this means to me, though, is that it might be worth your while, Corey, to figure out if your no-start is actually a problem with your cars theft deterrent system... I am not aware that any Riv came *without* the passkey II pellet key etc, and again I am too far away from your car to tell one way or the other. scratch

Actually, this potentially explains a lot. wink
