| I think I read somewhere that some Rivieras have bench seats. Is this true? I also think I read somewhere that leather seats were optional. I'd be curious to see one that didn't have these, I thought they are all leather bucket seats. | |

| I think the first year or 2 you had the bench seat option. Not sure about the leather though. We do have a member or 2 with the bench. | |

| I'm dying to know what the bench seats look like. I know it's stupid but I just wonder how it looks cause I'm so used to my bucket seats I can't imagine anything but that in this car. Btw, bucket seats ftw! | |

| There is a 95 for sale in Ala that says it has cloth interior and a bench seat. Very low mileage... Looking back, getting a bench seat car when I was in high school was a very good move. The back seat was fine but the front seat was better, trust me. It had the fold down armrest, slide the seat all the way back in the 70GS455 and shag on! Bert | |

| Ya, they're leather. I love the bench because you can have fun while driving, you can't do that in the backseat. Well, not safely. | |

| Wow, it doesn't look too bad. I'm just so used to the bucket seats and the center console since coupes are more personal cars and not so much people movers which are usually what I think of when I think of bench seats. Just a random question, why do the seats have a belt holder that you can take the seatbelt out of? Is that so you could take it out if you had to replace it? | |

I love the floor shifter over the column shifter though. But it looks good.

Well, if you have someone else in the car. As far as bucket seats go they basically originated from two seaters which are very personal cars that I'd say are more focused on the driver's satisfaction than anyone elses.

| While buying some parts for my Riv at Morad's, I asked if he had a driver's seat for my Riv. I told him it was a 60/40 front seat, not bucket seats. He said he'd never seen a Riv with a 60/40 front seat so I showed him. He said it must have been ordered specially that way. Just wondering if anyone else has one......... | |

| Bench seats were an option from the factory (with column shift on the tree), but not many were ordered. I've seen pictures - some of our members have them.
PS - Morads has a great variety of parts for 3800 SC-powered and W-body cars, at good prices, but their specific knowledge of Rivieras is limited in my experience. You have to know exactly what you need when you go looking for parts. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| They are rare, but I have seen a tan one in the yard before. Even rarer is the bench seat Riv with cloth. | |

Sorry Aaron but the cloth bench was standard from the factory when these first came out, adding the leather to the bench was an option, and the leather buckets were the next option. I think that changed in '97 and the buckets were standard and you couldn't get the bench any longer but I'm not sure about the year that it changed. You are right that there isn’t many out there but that is because most people went with the optional buckets. David is correct about them being rare! I have a friend that has a blue one with the blue leather bench seat, I believe that and the supercharger was the only two options on his car. I have heard of one other member in the ROA that has one with the cloth bench but have never seen one.
