Fan settings for a 180 degree thermostat Empty
PostSubject: Fan settings for a 180 degree thermostat   Fan settings for a 180 degree thermostat EmptyWed Apr 23, 2008 6:51 pm

Ive searched a few forums and found some settings for a 160T-stat but not for a 180. Does anyone have some settings for on/off temps that they've used for a 180 thermostat?

Mine are set to turn on at 185, with a non-drilled 180 t-stat. So the t-stat opens at 180 and my fans start up if/when coolant reaches 185. Works well in the summer to keep it cooler, and fans run once in a while in the winter as well. My first winter with the stock t-stat and fan settings, the fans did not run even once.

Pretty sure I'm on at 185 and off at 175. That way it can be off in the winter. Keep in mind that there are other settings of speed where the fans will turn off over X mph and come back on under X mph.

When I am not moving, I'd prefer the fans to be on. Call it an old school mentality but anything larger than a hamster should have cooling while sitting still.

Good luck. The DHP shows that setting, but I've never gotten it to actually work. Maybe HPT has figured this out.

Is there a Write-Up of how to change the fan on/off settings, or does it require a tuner?

Gotta have a tuner to play with the fans.

Thought so, thanks. I was looking for some HPTuners and they're like $500. When I switch out my stock thermostat, does anyone in my area (cincinnati, northern KY, dayton) want to power tune my fans and do a Scan for me?
